Top Upcoming Bollywood Films in 2019 - To Watch Out For In The First Half Of Year

So it is this time of the year when best of the best are listed out when it comes to the most anticipated films of 2019. So without much ado, let's jump straight into the list in this two part series

    1. Manikarnika – The Queen Of Jhansi - 25th January

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

This one is indeed Kangana Ranaut's labor of love. While the magnum opus was being directed by Krish (of Gabbar Is Back fame) to begin with, Kanagna took charge during the later part of the filming. The promo has made a good impact so far and as things look like currently, this one is designed as big screen entertainment. The film is the biggest release this Republic Day.

    2. Gully Boy - 14th February

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

Ranveer Singh had an eventful 2018 in Padmaavat and Simmba, both of these featuring him as a larger than life character. In Gully Boy, he would be stepping into a more real zone. This is expected as well considering the film has Zoya Akhtar as the director. Gully Boy is also special since it sees the coming together of Ranveer with Alia Bhatt, a perfect Valentine's Day outing.

    3. Total Dhamaal - 22nd Febuary

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

Though Total Dhamaal was originally slated for Diwali 2018 arrival, it is now arriving a week after the Valentine's Day weekend. The film is indeed set to be 'total dhamaal', what with Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit joining the original Dhamaal team of Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi and Javed Jaffery. Director Indra Kumar is set to bring on a riotous entertainer.

    4. Super 30 (March)

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

Though the final release date of Sajid Nadiadwala's production Super 30 has not been announced yet, one just hopes that it arrives soon. Though Vikas Behl had directed the film, one waits to see how he is credited eventually. More importantly though, the film features Hrithik Roshan as an 'aam aadmi' [Anand Kumar] who is considered as a messiah for maths students.

    5. Kesari - 21st March

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

This one is Akshay Kumar's biggie of 2019. Telling a real life tale from the era gone by, Kesari is a period action drama that is backed by Karan Johar and directed by Anurag Singh who has delivered quite a few Punjabi hits. The film features Parineeti Chopra opposite Akshay Kumar for the first time ever and audiences can well be assured of a truly big screen experience.

    6. Kalank - 19th April

With Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor coming together, Kalank is as big as it gets. A multi-starrer of epic proportion, none other than the combination of Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala have managed to pull off this casting coup. The film also sees the return of Abhishek Varman who had last directed 2 States.

    7. Bharat - June [Eid]

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

2018 wasn't really impressive for Salman Khan as his Race 3 was rejected by neutral audiences as well as his fans. With Bharat, he is returning with hit director Ali Abbas Zafar with whom he last delivered blockbuster Tiger Zinda Hai. Bharat is expected to be a far more sensitive affair though with Salman Khan playing multiple characters as he ages along. Interesting.

    8. Kabir Singh - 21st June

Bollywood Films To Watch Out For In The First Half Of 2019

Remake of Telugu hit Arjun Reddy, this one gets the casting perfectly right with Shahid Kapoor playing the title role. He is joined by Kiara Advani who would have a substantial role to play in Kabir Singh which is a dramatic love story. A performance oriented role where Shahid gets to play two distinct shades, this one could well find huge audiences especially amongst youth.
