Varun Dhawan And Alia Bhatt Score A Record With Kalank Seeing BIGGEST Ever Opening For Them

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have done it again. Their Kalank has taken a huge opening at the Box Office, what with 21.60 crore coming in. It was a partial holiday on Wednesday but still if one accounts for that, the opening is quite good.

The film has also turned out to be a personal milestone for both Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. Between them, they have already delivered nine films that have taken a double digit opening. There is Badrinath Ki Dulhania which is a common element and that film collected 12.25 crores on the first day.

Prior to Kalank, Varun’s biggest opener was Dilwale, though that was led by Shah Rukh Khan. This one is spearheaded by the youngster though. On the other hand Alia now has two back to back biggies. Her Gully Boy was huge when it opened a few weeks back and now Kalank has toppled it. That said, Gully Boy again was primarily led by Ranveer Singh whereas Kalank has Alia in equal measure as Varun.

Both the youngsters have consistently delivered well at the Box Office. While Varun hasn’t seen a commercial failure yet, Alia has faced disappointment only with Shaandaar, though ironically that film was her biggest opener till Gully Boy and now Kalank.

What needs to be seen now though is that how big does Kalank turn out to be from here. If the weekend is huge as well then more records are all set to topple and there would be a lot more to celebrate for Varun and Alia.
