If it is the Republic Day or the Independence Day, be sure that there would be 99% chances of an Akshay Kumar release. Akshay Kumar has proved to be themodern day patriotwho has been gifting the nation and the fans with a film that will have patriotism as a sub-theme. The best part of it all is that he makes sure that fans and cinema-goers are thoroughly entertained while delivering the message. This year too, after Padman, Akshay Kumar is all set to bring back the fire on Independence Day with Reema Kagti's Gold. Theteaserof the film had made us all super excited and now finally the trailer is here.Akshay Kumar plays a mad Bengali who wants India to win a Gold. He knows the potential of his country, which has won Gold for 3 consecutive years as British India and with the British flag being hoisted. He is all set to create a team of players who have all the potential. His ultimate dream is to win the Olympic Gold medal in London Olympics so that they can defeat their so-called "rulers" in their own country in front of their own people.Mouni Roy, who was seen for a split second in the teaser is quite visible in the trailer as Akshay's Bengali wife. While everything is great, we are not really sure about the reason as to why they speak Bengali and Hindi in such a distorted manner. Bollywood, isn't it high time that we get over stereotyping Bengali Hindi in this manner? As the team, Reema has an ensemble cast. There is Kunal Kapoor, who will be seen after quite a long time (no, that cameo in Dear Zindagi does not count), Amit Sadh, Mukkabaaz actor Vineet Singh (we hope he does not get typecast as a sportsman in every film though) and Vicky's brother Sunny Kaushal. What took our breath away in the short time and built a perfect tempo was the music. But the trailer looks a tad bit too long and gets boring in the last few minutes.Check out the trailer here:

The recent trend in Bollywood songs or music has been really simple. Either you pick up a song that has already been out and rehash it, or you make a catchy and peppy number with raps in the middle like garam masala. Very rarely do we come across a song that is old worldly romantic, slow and not sung by Arijit Singh. Well, the title track for Dhadak is one such song that will revive the closet old world die-hard romantic in you.The Dhadak song is beautiful, to say the least. The lyrics are beautifully penned down. And even though we just love Arijit Singh, it is really refreshing to have a romantic track that he has not sung. The music has been given the Ajay-Atul, the music director duo who had also worked for Sairat. The song naturally has quite some feel of Sairat and it is quite similar to the title track of Dhadak. In fact, Ajay Gogavale is also the voice of the song. Along with him, we have the talented Shreya Ghosal and the names are enough to tell you how the song might be. The 3 something minute song has long stretches of music too. While some might feel it to be too slow, it would definitely make it to the playlists of all the die-hard romantics who would want their souls to be soothed with a slow song. While the chemistry of Ishaan and Jahnvi is just what you saw in the Dhadak trailer, the visuals of the song actually looks like an extended "Padhado Marhe Desh"/ Rajasthan Tourism ad. There are stretches of winding roads, huge mahals and even lake by the Mahal that you'll see.Check out the song here:

Now, this is indeed turning out to be a remarkable feat forAlia Bhatt. HerRaazihas entered the 100 Crore Club and in the process has gone past a series of female-centric films that have managed to do some good business during last few years. As a matter of fact, her film has emerged as a much bigger success than the ones which featured her counterparts as the main lead. One look at the list below and it pretty much tells the tale:Alia Bhatt's Raazi - 100 crores (and counting)Sonam Kapoor's Neerja - 75.65 crorePriyanka Chopra's Mary Kom - 64 croreKangana Ranaut's Queen - 61 croreVidya Balan's Kahaani - 59 croreEach of these films is the ones where the female protagonist has been the only known name and face in the credits and is pretty much running the film on her shoulders. Neerja was a Sonam Kapoor show all the way, Mary Kom had Priyanka Chopra slogging in the ring, Queen was an out and out Kangana Ranaut outing whereas Kahaani had Vidya Balan enact one of her most difficult roles till date.Incidentally, barring Queen, each of the other four films has been a rather heavy affair with drama and thrills forming a major part of the narrative. On the other hand, Queen had stayed on to be light-hearted for the most part of its running duration.Nonetheless, what's notable is the fact that audiences have lapped up to a serious realistic drama like Raazi which didn't really offer much relief in the narrative and demanded their attention right through the playing time. Of course, Alia Bhatt's performance made it all possible and with director Meghna Gulzar staying honest to the subject, it has all paid dividends. There have been a few other films too are being tagged as female-centric by a section of media, case in point being Tanu Weds Manu Returns, The Dirty Picture, Piku, Dear Zindagi and Secret Superstar. However, let's start looking at each of these cases as considering these to be a solo lead affair for the leading ladies is actually far from being true.Let's begin with Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Agreed that it had Kangana Ranaut in the double but by no means can one discount the presence of Madhavan in the film. As a matter of fact, he is in the film's title as well which pretty much tells the tale. The Dirty Picture had Vidya Balan winning a lot of accolades but how can one ignore the scalability that Emraan Hashmi brought to the film? Moreover, it had Tusshar Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles as well. To term Piku as a female-centric film would be truly weird since it had Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in principle roles. As for Dear Zindagi and Secret Superstar, these may have been revolved around a female protagonist but then there were Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan no less to support them in their endeavor. No wonder, it is the success of Raazi that tastes sweeter than any other film because the film has defied all odds and further established that audiences are willing to step into an out and out female-centric affair if there indeed is an impressive story waiting to be told in an engaging manner.

As we are bracing ourselves to witness the life of Sanjay Dutt unfold on the big-screen in front of us, friend and director Rajkumar Hirani decided to tease us with yet another song from the film Sanju. We have already seen the Sanjay-Tina Munim phase in the previous song, which had a merry mood, but the latest song from Sanju shows the struggle that Sanjay Dutt had to go through.Post the death of his mother, Sanjay Dutt took to drugs to get over the sorrow, and in the trailer, we have already seen how he has become an addict. But the fighter that he is, Sanjay Dutt decided to not give up, seek help from his father, get over his addiction and get back to work. The song, Kar Har Maidan Fateh captures just that. The song shows the struggle that Sanjay Dutt went through to get over his addiction. We see him fighting with himself, spending anxious and sleepless nights at the rehab, sleeping on the road and even begging on the streets to cope up.But one thing that he shows is his strong will and never say die attitude. He springs back and gets back on life and Bollywood under the guidance of his father.Ranbir Kapoor is impeccable as Sanjay Dutt in this song. It will make you even more excited to see his performance in the film. His earnestness towards the role is visible. The song is inspirational and will motivate one and all. In fact, thanks to Sukhwinder Singh and Shreya Ghosal's powerful voice, it has the capability to give you goosebumps.Check out the song here:

The trailer of Netflix Originals web series ‘Sacred Games’ is here! The show will be available on Netflix from July 6thand the trailer, although is not something we have never seen before, looks fairly intriguing because of its presentation and execution. A stellar cast is only adding to the appeal and given the unique freshness and honesty that web content is known for we are sure this cop-chasing-deranged criminal to save the city thriller would be totally on our binge list!A city-under-threat thrillerFrom the trailer, it is obvious that the story of is that of a deranged criminal who is about to do spell doom on the city and a group of people that includes an out of case cop is on the hunt to bring down the criminal and save the city from the imminent threat. Although this is not exactly a fresh concept, if done right, it could be a gripping thriller which it actually looks like it is going to be.Stellar Star CastSacred Games have managed to assemble a star cast that even no Bollywood film has managed to do. With Saif Ali Khan playing a Sardar cop, Nawazuddin Siddique playing Ganesh Gaitonde, a deranged criminal with a literal god complex with Radhika Apte, Neeraj Kabi and Sameer Kochhar in pivotal roles, we can’t even believe the amount of acting talent that the show has in store. It is surely making us hopeful in terms of witnessing some powerful performancesHas Its Soul MumbaiFrom its back alleyways to the grimy police stations to swanky world of glamour and films, this series surely has Mumbai written all over it. Although the journeys of the character would be individual, the common thread binding them together is the soul of the tinsel town!Major Raman Raghav 2.0 FeelsIn certain places, the trailer will instantly remind you of Raman Raghav 2.0. Firstly Nawaz’s character sure has certain shades of his character from Raman Raghav 2.0. Even Saif’s character who is shown battling his own demons is somewhat reminiscent of Vicky Kaushal’s character in the film. To top it all, the grimy, dark feel with tight shots and the squalor of the city also gave us major Raman Raghav feels!Divine’s MusicIf you felt that the music in the trailer feels familiar that is because it is indeed familiar! The music playing in the background is that of rapper Divine’s and his Gully Gang. Apart from giving a raw and rugged appeal to the visuals, the music also cements the heavy Mumbai connection of the films.

Just when you think that you haven't heard a juicy, explosive and unusual news from the world of Bollywood, the industry simply piques your curiosity by announcing a project that not only attracts but demands your attention. Of course, when you happen to be the highly sensitive, cultural and ethical ex-chief of the Central Board of Film Certification Pahlaj Nihalani who till the end fought to showcase the sanskar in films, anything he does now becomes a news.Already known to produce risque films such as Shola Aur Shabnam and Andaz, Nihalani presented last year's erotic thriller Julie 2. Now, he is back to producing and directing game and has reunited with his Hathkadi star Govinda and is working with him on a film titled Rangeela Raja. Now as colorful and juicy this bit of information is let us tell you that the film is said to be 'inspired' by the biggest scamster of our times, Vijay Mallya. Here's everything you need to know about Rangeela Raja:Vijay Mallya:The film is said to focus on Vijay Mallya and how he pulled one of the biggest international scams and as per director Nihalani's words, the film will be very entertaining. Keeping everyone guessing, he said that, "Not the Mallya card, the Mallya calendar. The entire look, feel, appearance and rhythm of the song sequence are based on the Kingfisher calendars. As for Govinda playing who you say he is playing, let's just keep the suspense going. I am neither denying nor admitting it,"Pahlaj Nihalani:Reunited with one of his favorite actors Nihalani has Govinda playing a suave, smooth talking and womanizing businessman who also happens to be a scamster and his entire look is based on Vijay Mallya. Just last week, Nihalani shot a song and dance sequence with his lead actor and Chinni Prakash choreographed the song. As per Nihalani, Govinda is fitter than ever and performed to the difficult steps which no one could have done better than him.Govinda's comeback:After he took a break and ventured into politics, the actor has found it difficult to get consistent work. Even though he starred in hit films and his performances were appreciated, his projects took a while and his last comeback film Aa Gaya Hero was a disaster. He will be seen in this year's Fry Day and this film is going to release later this year.Rangeela Raja:The film will feature Govinda in a double role and one of his avatars in inspired from Vijay Mallya and the other avatar is inspired by Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev. According to Nihalani, the actor will be playing 4 different characters through his double role. Also, he said that "It's a comedy of a kind never attempted by Govinda before. Unlike the streetwise comic characters, Govinda is famous for, he plays a very sophisticated character in Rangeela Raja...He has a double role. But he slips into four different characters. Audiences who have been waiting for Govinda’s comeback will be very pleased to see what he has done in ‘Rangeela Raja’. It is almost like a rebirth of Govinda and I feel happy to be doing his comeback film."The Story behind scam:While the film is inspired by Vijay Mallya, it will have added flavors for cinematic effect will also focus on the glory days of Mallya's Kingfisher brand. Though it will be interesting to see how Nihalani makes Govinda's other character based on Baba Ramdev fit into this scenario.
