Ayushmann Khurrana’s Article 15 Trailer Will Hit You So Hard That You’ll Realise Your Privilege!

Often times, for the pettiest things around us, we get bogged down and think that our lives are as miserable as they could be. These are times when we forget how strong discriminations run in the society and how, a large section of the society, face discrimination just because of their caste or creed or religion and yes, even gender.

The trailer of Article 15 is a reminder of our privileges, that we often times forget about. It shows how Ayan, a police officer played by the impeccable Ayushmann Khurrana is trying to get into the cause of death of two teenagers, who had been found hanging from a tree in a village.

The trailer, as it progresses, reveals that this had been a gang rape case where the girls were raped and hanged to death by men of upper caste as they had asked for a raise of 3 rupees, the price equivalent to 3 drops of mineral water that most of us effortlessly afford.

The trailer of Article 15 gives away almost the entire story of the film, but it is engrossing and you would want to see the film because of how it has been executed. The film is a stark reminder of how discrimination still works in India, despite an entire Article in the Constitution dedicated to eradicating it.

The incidents shown in the film seem to have a lot of incidents that it has taken inspiration from. It would remind of the Badaun case of 2014, where gang rape had been ruled out. It also bears similarity to the Saharanpur and Lakhimpur cases. It seems to have been inspired by a number of real-life incidents.

The film would also have performers like Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra, Manoj Pahwa and Zeeshan Ayub.
