Badla Trailer: Taapsee Pannu And Amitabh Bachchan Starrer Will Leave You With A Lot Of Questions And A Feeling Of Gloom

Get ready for some serious revenge as the Badla trailer is here. Starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles, Badla is Sujoy Ghosh’s latest film after Kahaani 2 in 2016, that is all set to hit the theatres on 8^th March. Badla, which is a remake of the Spanish thriller Contratiempo, is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

Interestingly, Badla is also going to be Amitabh and Taapsee’s next collaboration after the super successful Pink and will also have Shah Rukh Khan playing an important cameo. Here is what we gathered from the trailer.

Atmosphere Of Mystery and Gloom

One of the first things you notice in the trailer is the atmosphere of mystery and gloom. An intense thriller revolving a murder, the trailer sets the tone right with a constantly cloudy and wintry landscape and mellow indoor lighting. The feeling of something lurking in half-light and half-shadow is very strong and gives off the hint of a really intense thriller. In terms of visual intensity, the film might remind you of Drishyam a little.

Interesting Casting

Apart from the stellar casting of Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan who nailed it and how in Pink, we spotted a few other actors as well in the trailer. Actors like Manav Kaul and Amrita Singh in a very curious avatar is adding another intriguing layer to the already intriguing trailer.

Pink Effect

Talking about Pink, the trailer will definitely remind you a little of the film. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee sharing a client and lawyer relationship, Amitabh’s voice, which was something we all noticed in Pink, is almost identical here.

Impressive Cinematography

The cinematographer Avik Mukhopadhyay has surely done a swell job with the film and that is visible in the trailer itself. The out of the regular shots are helping to set the tone and feel of the movie just right, much like Kahaani 2.

Hint Of The Story

After watching the trailer of the film and given it is an official remake of Spanish thriller Contratiempo or An Invisible Guest, we can make a little guess about the story of the film. Taapsee’s character is arrested after she cops catch her with the body of her extra-marital lover. Amitabh’s character is sent to prepare her as for the case who seems to be a master in playing jump rope with the real truth in order to win cases. Taapse tells him that someone was blackmailing them and when the tried to pay their way out of it and arranged a meeting in a room. She was knocked unconscious and woke up to find the body of her lover. Thus, the story will unravel who is the killer, who is speaking the truth and what is truth ultimately,
