Shah Rukh Khan Introducing Prerna And Anurag In The First Promo Of Kasautii Zindagii Kay Is Making Us Giddy With Excitement

After keeping us on tenterhooks about the show and its casting, Ekta Kapoor has finally revealed the first promo of the new season of Star Plus' superhit serial Kasautii Zindagi Kay. Ekta earlier announced the reboot of this massively popular serial and from that very moment we have been excited about the show and dying to know who would be reprising our favorite characters. She is totally living up to our excitement about the show by introducing the first promo is the most special way possible. Here are our takeaways from the first promo of Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot.

Introduced By Shah Rukh Khan

In the crowd of saas-bahu sagas, Kasautii stood out for its eternal love story. Now that the second season of TV's favorite love story is coming back, who better to introduce it than the King of Romance himself, Shah Rukh Khan. In the promo, Shah Rukh is seen re-introducing us to these two star-crossed lovers who are like two tracks of the train who run together for miles but is never able to meet each other. 

Parth Samthaan As Anurag

We are ready to welcome Parth Samthaan as our new Anurag Basu and he looks quite promising in the promo as well. He is channeling that gentle lover-boy vibes that made our original Anurag, Cezanne Khan, an instant hit with the audience. Parth already has a loyal fan-base owing to his earlier successful ventures like Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan and now it is surely going to higher up.

Erica Fernandez As Prerna 

Arguably one of the best-written characters among Ekta Kapoor's heroine, the character of Prerna has been somewhat of a legend as far as popular characters of Indian TV serials go. There could not have been a better choice than Erica Fernandez to play Prerna as apart from being massively popular, she is also a perfect amalgamation of strength and innocence that the character of Prerna is remembered for. We are hoping for some good stuff from her for sure. 

Original Storyline

Looking at the promo, we can say for sure that Ekta Kapoor has made it a point to keep the original essence of the story intact. While we are sure that there will be some deviations from the real plot, but at the end of the day it will be the story of Anurag and Prerna and their doomed romance, that got us hooked to the show when it first came out. Also, given the images of Howrah Bridge and Durga Pujo, we are assuming that the story would be set against the backdrop of Kolkata as well.

A Surge Of Nostalgia

For every kid growing up in early 2000, the voice of Priya Bhattacharya and Babul Supriyo singing 'Imtihaan har ghadi ki...Kasautii Zindagi Kay' and that fluttering red dupatta is one moment that everyone can recall. Even the ones who did not follow the show, it was impossible to escape it as someone or the other in the vicinity was a fan of the show. The same tune and the same fluttering red dupatta is thus giving us a surge of nostalgia.
