Taapsee Pannu Starrer Thappad Trailer Is A Tight Slap To Everyone Who Feels Violence Is An Expression Of Love!

The trailer of Taapsee Pannu starrer Thappad trailer is here and it serves a tight slap to the culture where violence is justified in the name of ‘true love’ or intense/ passionate love, which even Bollywood has promoted for its own benefit.

The trailer is simple, as seems the story of the film. A married woman has filed a petition stating that she does not want to go back to her husband, the reason being a ‘thappad’. ‘Bas itni si baat’ is the retort that everyone has, who are trying to convince her to move over this chapter and give the man another chance. But Taapsee’s character too steadily holds her ground and says that she wouldn’t return because her husband ‘just’ can’t hit her!

Well, through the thappad, we realise that a number of aspects would be unfolded. From justifying the slap and saying that this can happen in ‘true love’ (remember Kabir Singh and director Sandeep Vanga Reddy) to saying that this is a onetime thing and that women should ‘adjust’ and ‘compromise’ in relationships, the film would probably explore a lot of layers. We see how the problem is present throughout society- Taapsee’s househelp is regularly beaten up and even her high profile lawyer seems to be in a loveless marriage.

In the trailer itself, we can understand how Taapsee has unleashed herself in the film. She emotes and how! Well, it is her who has to get the message across that ‘thappad’ isn’t an ‘itni si baat’ and she does it with perfection. Indeed, she is an actress par se.
