Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior Trailer: Ajay Devgn Carries ‘Surgical Strike’ To Shake ‘Mughal Empire’, Saif Ali Khan And Kajol Stun Us!

The trailer of Tanhaji:The Unsung Warrior is here. The film will be based on the life of Tanhaji Malusare, who helped Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj recapture the fort of Kondhana with his tactics and despite the fort being captured by Udaybhan Rathod under the Mughal command, which had a greater army.

The trailer gives us a premise of the events that the film will talk about, and well, it uses some heavy CGI and VFX to recreate the historic battle that took place on 4^th February, 1670, that the makers have termed as ‘the surgical strike that shook the Mughal Empire’.

Ajay Devgn makes a simple entry in this trailer, but he creates an effect, especially with the tactics that he shows to re-capture the Kondhana fort. He is shown as the man with grit and intellect, who is ready to lay his life for Shivaji Maharaj and to have his and the Marathas lost land back under Shivaji’s reign.

But in the trailer, it is Saif Ali Khan’s Udaybhan who keeps us hooked. He looks like a man who is here to fight and win. But what we felt odd about was the fact that even though Saif’s character is actually a Rajput, his looks did not quite have the Rajputana feel to it.

Kajol would play Tanhaji’s wife in the film and she has some powerful dialogues in this period drama.

Talking about the battle scenes, which is like the nerve of the film, some look heavily inspired from Hollywood films. Yes, even though they look grand, it feels like we have seen them before. This film too is about the Marathas and their power and there is no way you would not be reminded of the Panipat trailer, even though the events are very different in here.
