Thappad’s Ek Tukda Song: Taapsee Paanu’s Conflict With Herself And Everything Around After The Slap Captured In This Sad Ballad

The first song from Anubhav SInha’s  Thappad is here, and just like the trailer, the song too beautifully captured the conflict that lead actress Taapsee Pannu;’s character goes through after she is slapped by her husband one night.

From the trailer itself, we had known that Thappad would be one of those films that would delve deeper into relationships and violence in relationships. Transcending from a ‘thappad’, it would be layered and would try to hit home the point that love and respect are essential in a relationship. The first song from the film is here and just like the trailer, it is heartbreakingly beautiful.

In the song, we see how Taapsee’s character is unable to go back to her life of marital bliss after she is hit one day. The song captures what she goes through after her entire relationship is shaken up with a slap. The song shows the conflict that the character goes through in the film before she decides to actually separate from her husband.

The lyrics, penned down by Shakil Azmi, is heart-touching. The ‘shehnai’, emblematic of a wedding is used beautifully in the song that is about heartache! The music is by Anurag Saikia and the song has been ssung by Raghav Chaitanya. This one is beautiful, and also such a relief to the ears during an era of remixes. Check out the song here:
