Five Lesser Known Characters Who Would Be Perfect Real Life Partners

So I was going through a list of movies I have watched before and enjoyed a lot with the motive of watching it again. So I came across a lot romantic and comedy movies in my list of movies. So here is my list of unconventional heroes who were not given the best of credits, but would be perfect real life partners.

Samir, Dill Hai Tumhara: He was just Shalu’s (Preity Zinta) best friend. But there was never a moment where he didn’t stop to make her happy. He was always there to cheer her up when her stepmother scolded her and he always made sure to leave no stones unturned to bring a smile on her face. He was in Love with her since childhood, but happily let her go with a smile on his face because she was in love with Dev and made sure to be the best friend she could always trust.

Karan Chaudhary, Mohabbatein: This movie talks about the freedom to love. What better than bring the issue of widows having a second chance at love? Karan (Jimmy Shergill) was single-handedly, in my opinion, the best male protagonist in this movie. He not only sees the wounded soul behind the cold exterior but also helps the simple widow break her chains and to move on in life.

Vanraj, Hum Dill De Chuke Sanam: All of us who watched this movie at some point wanted Sameer (Salman Khan) and Nandini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan) to unite. It was never Sameer’s fault that Nandini eventually fell in love with Vanraj but I cannot even deny that Vanraj was a gallant man. He not only overcame his anger over being betrayed and being kept in dark by Darbar family. He took the most difficult task of reuniting his wife with her lover. Not many men in this day and age have the courage and heart to do so. Koodos to him for this noble act!

Agastya, Jaan-E-man: He was the nerdy boy in college whom Piya (Preity Zinta) left for Suhaan (Salman Khan). Though, their separation was not his fault. I can’t deny that he didn’t take extra efforts to make his relationship with Piya work. Not only did he not value her by keeping his marital status hidden, but he was also so out of contact, he didn’t even know he had a daughter with her.  He tried to communicate via letters in the age of telephones. Landline phones have been in existence since the 1990s if not more! While Agastya never stopped loving her and in order to prove his worthiness he worked hard returning to court her only when he was confident of his accomplishments.

Aman Mehra, Kuchh Kuchh Hota Hai: How could I forget Aman (Salman Khan)! While everyone was rejoicing over Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) and Anjali (Kajol) finally uniting, I was weeping. Mind you, I was happy that they united but Aman was such a pure-hearted soul. He not only gave his love away from his wedding, but he also danced with a smile on his face while Rahul and Anjali got married. All the while, nursing his broken heart. Not only did he love Anjali for who she was, but he also left Rahul miles behind in keeping Anjali happy when he let her go.
