What Should Be Nana Patekar's Punishment If Tanushree Dutta's Claims Are Proven?

10 years ago, actress Tanushree Dutta, publicly stated that renowned actor, Nana Patekar, sexually harassed her during the filming of a song. At that time, she was greeted with absolute silence and unhelpfulness. No one came forward to help her out and her statement soon became forgotten.

However, in 2018, with the female empowerment and the rage of the #MeToo movement, Tanushree again got a chance to speak again against the harassment that had happened with her. She spoke courageously that the #MeToo movement would not come to India until justice has been served to her. She alleged that 10 years ago, when Nana and her were shooting for a song, he touched her inappropriately. He called goons on the set and even vandalized her car. The director, Rakesh Sarang, and the choreographer, Ganesh Acharya, were also present on the set but kept mum about it and did not do anything to aid the actress. Although both the director and the choreographer denied the alleged claim, a reporter named Janice Sequeira who was present at the set during this unfortunate incident stood by Tanushree Dutta’s story.

Such an incident is horrendous and despicable. If it truly does exist, it is without question that Tanushree Dutta must get justice. Nana should be banned from the Bollywood Industry to set an example to all the actors who think it is okay to get away with such heinous acts against women. Such acts leave an indispensable mark and cause a tremendous amount of mental trauma.

If Tanushree Dutta is telling the truth, justice must be served at any cost.
