The Khans have consolidated their power at the Indian box-office by delivering some of the highest grossing films of Indian cinema. These films have gone on to break numerous records as well as have established tons of new records that seem out of reach for 90 percent of Bollywood stars. Even after spending close to 30 years in the film industry and ruling it, no one is close to their throne.
Even though they have delivered some of the biggest hits, it doesn't necessarily mean that all of their films have been good. But, due to their huge fan-following, even their flop films gross more than some films which clash with a Khan film at the box-office. These films are high on content, at least when compared to the Khan film they clashed with. Here are 13 times when a Khan film won a clash despite the presence of a good content-film:
- 1/13
Raees V Kaabil
SRK's film emerged as the ultimate winner despite receiving mixed reviews. Kaabil was praised for Hrithik's acting as well as for a gripping story.
- 2/13
Dilwale V Bajirao Mastani
Even though Dilwale performed underwhelmingly at the box-office, it managed to outgross Bajirao in worldwide collections.
- 3/13
Raja Hindustani V Ghatak
The romantic-drama went on to become a blockbuster but offered nothing new in terms of content while Sunny Deol's Ghatak was a thrilling crime-drama. Ghatak also attained 'hit' status.
- 4/13

The Aamir Khan-Juhi Chawla starrer won the box-office clash but Mithun's action-drama dealt with strong subjects of wildlife protection and fighting poachers and smugglers.
- 5/13
Awwal Number V Police Public
The Aamir Khan starrer was a flop, yet it collected more than Rajkumar-Naseeruddin Shah starrer Police Public which went unnoticed despite being a powerful murder-mystery.
- 6/13
Tum Mere Ho
One of Aamir Khan's worst films, Tum Mere Ho managed to outgross the Vinod Khanna led ensemble action-thriller CID which should have earned more.
- 7/13
Deewana Mujh Sa Nahin-Mera Pati Sirf Mera Hai
The Aamir Khan-Madhuri Dixit starrer performed average at the box-office and is your typical romantic film. On the other hand, Jeetendra led Mera Pati Sirf Mera Hai is the inspiration behind many popular Indian TV soaps today.
- 8/13
Phool Bane Angaray
The Rekha-Rajinikanth starrer powerful revenge-drama was defeated at the box-office by candy-floss romance Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi.
- 9/13

The Aamir Khan starrer was an over the top drama filled with a lot of cliches while the Sanjay Dutt starrer was a heartfelt love story which flopped at the box-office.
- 10/13
Baazi V Maidan-E-Jung
The Aamir Khan starrer was ripped off from Hollywood hit Die Hard and the film flopped. But, it managed to outgross Maidan-E-Jung, a better action film than Baaghi.
- 11/13
Mela V Bulandi
The Aamir Khan starrer is probably his worst film to date but it earned more than powerful family drama Bulandi.
- 12/13
