The name of Shah Rukh Khan’s first movie, if anything, heralded the nature of his journey. A journey that started with Chamatkar turns 26 today and there is very little we can do apart from being bewildered by the miracle like nature of it. Yes, today the Badshaah of Bollywood completed his 26 years in the industry and looking back it is almost impossible to trace this never heard of journey.About 130 films, multiple national and international accolades and awards and a career that makes him the most popular celebrity in the world, his life is is no less than a Bollywood film in itself. In these 26 years of being the Baadshah of Bollywood, he managed to climb the highest rung of the celebrity ladders relying on his talent, hard-work, charm, wit and above all a spirit that is as rare as him.Looking back at his journey, here are a few setbacks only Shah Rukh Khan could have triumphed over without ruining the brand Shah Rukh Khan that he has created for himself.Expensive FlopsIn a career that spans around three decades, Shah Rukh Khan has seen multiple ups and downs. In the world of Bollywood where fate changes every Friday and consecutive flops for more than 5-6 times can ruin even the brightest of the careers, Shah Rukh has managed to triumph over several of those. He has no dearth of major flops like Ra.One or more recently Jab Harry Met Sejal that would have been enough to wipe out any star’s career, but this is Shah Rukh we are talking about who bounced back with a blockbuster after every major failure and kept his career his afloat.Multiple Health AilmentsFrom a back injury that threatened to pull the plug on his career to fractures and injuries beyond counting, his career has been replete with serious health ailments. Plus his hectic schedule, lack of sleep and chain smoking has not helped the matter either. But Shah Rukh manages to draw strength from god knows where to keep going and putting his body through a grueling and punishing schedule to keep his fans entertained.Failed Business VenturesApart from his acting chops and gift of gab, Shah Rukh is also known for his unparalleled business acumen. The man can truly make business happen, whether its entertainment or real estate, Shah Rukh usually has a terrific knack for business. But given his love for adventurous business ventures, not all his ventures have been as successful as others. His first production company Dreamz Unlimited that he started with Aziz Mirza and Juhi Chawla tanked completely. But instead of being discouraged he took up the challenge and re-launched it as Red Chillies Entertainment which now is one of the most successful production houses in the businessFailed Attempts On The Small ScreenIt is ironic that Shah Rukh whose journey to fame started with TV also had to face rejection from the small screen audience at some point in time. After successfully hosting a few seasons of KBC, his next venture Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hai bombed miserably. However, unperturbed by the failure he continued and later came back with a bang with later seasons of KBC.Several High Profile Public ScandalsThere is nothing like messy scandals to ruin the career of superstars but in case of Shah Rukh, even major public scandals could not put his stardom or fandom at risk. Whether it is his much talked about affair with Priyanka Chopra or the whole mess that unfolded at Wankhede Stadium or his intolerance comment, all these would have wiped out the career of any star, but Shah Rukh remained totally unfazed by it.

Some love him, some adore him and some simply worship him. It is probably safe to say that of all Bollywood stars, Salman Khan has the most loyal fan base. His unique style and persona have made him one of the biggest superstar of our generation. Salman beating up baddies, kicking up a storm, firing bullets or making witty wisecracks are what Bhai fans live by and it is this craze which has led to a situation where we have forgotten that flop films even existed in Salman’s filmography. But even after all the fandom, one common complaint against Salman is his refusal to serve us variety. He has created a zone for himself and rarely steps out of it. But can we blame him fornot experimenting with his roles?Because every time he has done something different than beating up baddies and cracking jokes, the films have been utter disappointments. Here are 5 flop films of Salman Khan that will tell you why he does not experiment with his roles.TubelightOne of Salman Khan recent disappointments,Tubelightwas not as popular with Bhai fans. He played a simpleton with the innocence of a child who sets out to bring back his brother who has gone to fight in the Sino-Indian War. Although the film managed to make money at the box-office, it was not liked by most Bhai fans.Jaan-E-MannShirish Kunder’s directorial debut was a complete disaster. The film which was done in a style of a musical failed to have any effect on audience apart from boring them to death. It was nothing like anything Salman Khan had tried his hands on previously and looking at the fate of the film we totally understand. Nobody wants anotherJaan-E-Mann!VeerThis was one film that Salman Khan even turned a writer for. But despite all the hype, the period drama had a dismal run at the box-office. Quite understandably we have never seen Salman Khan in any period drama afterVeer.Main Aur Mrs. KhannaIt is hard to imagine, but yes Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor did a film that tried to portray the complications of marriage! Needless to say,Main Aur Mrs. Khannais one of the biggest disappointments of Salman and Kareena’s career and Salman since then we have not seen Salman doing anything on the similar lines.London Dreams and YuvvraajIt is probably safe to assume that people do not like Salman Khan as a musician in films. Apart fromHum Dil De Chuke Sanam, the two other films in which he played musicians,London DreamsandYuvvraaj both failed miserably. Even the extra v and a could not save them. We guess Bhai fans doesn’t even like music to steal focus from Salman!

It’s surprising how no one really spoke about it! How did we miss it?Aamir Khanmetaphorically confessed a lot about his life and the complaints he's had with the industry in last year’sSecret Superstar. We didn’t even get he could be talking about the real him and not his character. Mr. Perfectionist was pretty ingenious in slipping the hints in. Confused? The flamboyant, colorful, honest and obnoxious character of music director Shakti Kumar thatAamir Khanessayed in the movie had layers to itself. While we thought he was mostly there to raise a few laughs and lighten up the tension, Shakti was dealing with a lot himself. Under the surficial aura of the character that Aamir built, he did express a mini outburst of emotional complaints he has had with his family and the film industry. How?Remember this pre-climax scene where he’s talking to Insia while sipping a soda? He mentions how his story (Shakti Kumar’s in this case) is pretty similar to hers. Here’s what he quotes –“You know pichle 10 saalo mein, meri do biwiyon me mujhe chhod diya. Mere bhai ne hi mujhpe case thok diya. Matlab family toh hai hi nahi meri! Ye industry hi samjho meri mother sister family hai. Aur iss industry ne bhi aaj tak mujhe thoda sa bhi pyaar nahi diya. Saale har saal nominate karte hain lekin aajtak award nahi diya!”You think we’re far-fetching it? Then let’s take a closer look at what he spoke. You know pichle 10 saalo mein, meri do biwiyon ne mujhe chhod diya.Aamir Khanwas divorced in 2002 before he got married to Kiran Rao in 2005. While his personal life isn’t meant to be anybody’s business, we could argue he was possibly making a close reference to his real life.Moving on –Mere bhai ne hi mujhpe case thok diya.Aamir’s brother Faisal Khan had filed an FIR against him for keeping him confined in his home citing his ill mental health. This can’t just be a co-incidence, can it?Anyway, moving on further -Matlab family toh hai hi nahi meri! Ye industry hi samjho meri mother sister family hai. Aur iss industry ne bhi aaj tak mujhe thoda sa bhi pyaar nahi diya.We do know the love and fascination Aamir attaches to the Hindi Film Industry. His passion for story-telling and perfectionism draws a huge reference to the fact that he considers this industry his own family. But then again, we’re also aware how Aamir is much of an outcast entity in the showbiz. His sincere efforts to bring glory to the industry have mostly been overlooked. And finally -Saale har saal nominate karte hain lekin aajtak award nahi diya.Aamir Khan has a total of 19 Filmfare Best Actor nominations while he’s only been able to win 3. Before Dangal, he had 18 nominations with just two wins. Besides we already know he stopped attending any glittery award night since the mid-90s. Even after having been actively involved in nation-building causes and movies on social awareness, the National Award jury has also been pretty hostile to his contribution.Anyway, we’ll keep our emotions in check and let you absorb this. If this doesn’t make for a symbolic outburst, then what really will? We recently caught this movie after its digital release. If you haven’t seen it, go for it!Also Read:Shah Rukh Khan's Revelation About This DDLJ Scene Will Convince You He's A Genius

It’s hard to just get away from DDLJ trivia, even though the film as we speak turns 23 years almost. Everything about DDLJ hasn’t just been sheer creativity, persistence or imaginings, improvisations did its share of magic too. A dose of SRK’s improvisation recently caught our attention while he was speaking to a veteran journalist, about a particular scene in an old interview of his.You do remember the scene where Raj & Simran are parting ways after the holiday, right? After having spent a month long vacation in Europe that got them too close, the two at the London Railway Station are bidding goodbyes. Raj as we see looks smitten by love, while Simran thanks him for the happy times. Just as they both turn around and start walking, Simran asks for his address, so she could send him her wedding invitation.“Arey Raj, tumne mujhe apna address diya hi nahi, main tumhe apni shaadi ka card bhejungi. Tum aaoge na,”?Simran asks, heedless of what Raj might be feeling. Now here’s what Aditya Chopra had originally thought of. According to the director, Raj would have a reluctant smile and agree as most people would do, but without any intentions of really showing up.But what did Shah Rukh really do?“Nahi, main nahi aaunga”, he asserts, shakes his head, looks her in the eye, smiles and leaves. Now this is what gets to Simran really. She stands motionless trying to decipher his reaction that she would only later understand. We as viewers feel exactly what Raj maybe feeling as the opening music of Naa Jaane Mere Dil Ko Kya Ho Gaya starts playing in the background. Phew! The whole intensity of the scene would not be what it is had it not been for the genius improvisation of SRK.Going by Shah Rukh's own words, Aditya Chopra walked up to him in excitement and said “It was so fantastic, how did you think of it?” Shah Rukh responded by saying, “I love her too much to fake my emotions.” He went on to reveal how this was a scene they had planned for a long time discussdng how Raj must have wet eyes, look down and let the audience interpret his hearbreak. But we now know how Shah Rukh improvised and gave us a scene that remains etched in our memories as one of our all-time favorites. Thanks Shah Rukh! Nobody becomes ‘The King of Romance’ just like that. One needs a heart like you!Meanwhile you enjoy that beautiful SRK reaction and song here:

One of the biggest stars that Indian cinema has ever produced – Salman Khan has always been an idol for his. Recently a crazy fan did the weirdest thing and broke in into his house claiming to be his wife. while there is no dearth of crazy things fans have done for him, there are facts about his own life and personality that are no less weird. While trivia and facts about him are endless, these are some of the weirdest things about the star.Old ClothesDespite of his star stature he is surprisingly humble. The star still wears inexpensive clothes and is often seen in t-shirts worth Rs. 500. In fact, he still wears old clothes and happens to possess 15-year-old jeans or 10-year-old shoes that he still actually uses.Accurate PredictionsHis roaring box office success is not a fluke. The actor has a keen sense of judgment and often makes such accurate predictions that it amazes everybody around him. A great example of this is Bajrangi Bhaijaan. When the film was offered to him he had all his dates blocked, but he decided to clear all his dates and go ahead with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which obviously turned out to be a record-breaking successBurning moneyAs a kid he devised the most unique way of celebrating Diwali. Instead of burning crackers he took to burning actual money. He in fact burnt down the entire salary of his father Salim Khan. However, his father did not punish him for it but actually explained to him the importance of money which he says stayed with him all his life.Love for SoapsSalman Khan has a strange fascination for soaps. He is especially fond of soaps made with natural ingredients. His bathroom is apparently filled with different kind of soaps and makes it a point to exotic soaps from all countries that he visits. Not So Tech-SavvyThe star is not the most gadget or technology friendly person. The actor does not have an email id to his and prefers communicating face to face or over the phone. He also does not own any iPads or play stations. Even on Karan’s show he revealed he prefers old ways of life instead of being too enamored by fancy technology. In fact, Salman didn’t even know the word ‘selfie’ while shooting for the song ‘Selfie Le Le’ from Bajrangi Bhaijaan and got to know only when sister Alvira explained it to him.

Since 2011, Sajjad Delafrooz has been on a mission to make it big in Bollywood. His portrayal of the menacing villain, Abu Usman, in Salman Khan-starrer Tiger Zinda Hai has finally given him a sense of having arrived in the industry. The 34-year-old Iranian actor is ecstatic about having garnered praise from all corners for his performance in the film that released in December 2017. “I was trying to make this (recognition) happen for years. It feels good to get beautiful messages from people. Directors and producers are congratulating me, and that’s the best thing,” says Sajjad, who is also gaining popularity among women for his good looks. How does that feel? “It’s beautiful,” he giggles.Sajjad hopes to only grow from here, and he treasures Salman’s advice. “After the screening of the film, bhaijaan told me, ‘Be careful about the projects you choose because your life will change now’,” says Sajjad. About working with Salman, he adds, “I met him while I was preparing for the film. He shared tips about working out. He shares his experiences with you, which is the best thing about him.”Years in between him being a PR manager to bagging Tiger Zinda Hai were all about working hard irrespective of results. “I still remember the exact date — July 29, 2011 — when I decided that I don’t want to continue with a 9-to-5 job and instead take up acting. I started by sending my videos and e-mails to people who are in-charge of such things. I even came to Mumbai in 2014 to try my luck, but that didn’t work. n 2015, I landed a small role in Baby (starring Akshay Kumar)... But I knew I would have to work harder to be in a better place. I never stopped working. Till 2016, I did international projects, movies, television shows. I speak five different languages, so I got to work in different parts of the world, but nothing worked for me,” says Sajjad. And then, one day, he got a call for the Salman starrer. “I would email my work 24/7 to directors and producers, till one day, out of the blue, I got a call for this film. I didn’t know what movie it was, and who else was going to star in it. They told me that they liked my audition, and wanted me to give another one. The entire audition process went on for two-and-a-half months,” he recalls, now hoping that more such opportunities keep coming his way.

All you need is a moment in Cinema to leave an impression that lasts forever. Ever imagined the potency of that one single moment? Could Bachchan have become the Bachchan we know had he let Sher Khan take the seat in Zanjeer’s police station scene? Guess not! While most actors in the realm of cinema descend in the hopes of waiting for that moment, the making of a superstar needs a turning point.Let’s take a look at those moments put together as a scene that gave a new direction to an actor’s career. We will talk about scenes that virtually played the most essential role in giving an actor’s journey the shape he could only wish for.Let’s take six of the biggest superstars who started almost around the same time and ended up being superstars in more ways than one:Shah Rukh KhanPushing Shilpa Shetty off the roof in BaazigarShah Rukh had started out as the quintessential romantic boy playing to the gallery and caught notice of some of the eyes. He was struggling for his moment until Abbas-Mustan made him kill the leading lady of a mainstream masala film. We do have our reactions intact with us around this scene, don’t we? That was by all means the turning point in his career. The anti-hero imagery that he became known for was all credited to this scene in Baazigar eventually making him win his first filmfare award for Best Actor. He followed it up with works like Anjaam & Darr and subsequently had to break the shackles to discover THE lover boy in him.Aamir KhanThe Final Confrontation With Gulfam Hassan In SarfaroshThe fact that Sarfarosh redefined Aamir Khan is no secret. The intended change in Aamir’s cinematic approach that he took up was courtesy of this realistic cop drama set around cross border terrorism veiled under cultural exchange. It was the climax though that set Aamir Khan apart. The defining speech while arresting Gulfam Hasan played by Naseeruddin Shah resonated all around for the longest time. Aamir Khan’s filmography could easily be distinguished as Pre Sarfarosh & Post Sarfarosh era! The scene really was quite something though!Ajay DevgnStruggling for his mother’s burial In ZakhmIn an era when anything closer to reality wasn’t working at the Box Office, Ajay Devgn did a movie called Zakhm and won the National Best Actor Award. His struggle to convince people of fulfilling her mother’s only wish brought out the actor in him we know him as. Of the many scenes he evoked emotions in, the climax was heart wrenching to the core. Nothing remained the same for Ajay as he started getting the recognition a good actor desires.Akshay KumarFighting Off Undertaker in Khiladiyon Ka KhiladiWe know he wasn’t the real UnderTaker but what Akshay did with him was one of the most fascinating moments in the cinema of 90s. Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi wasn’t just an action treat back then, it was a movie that cemented Akshay Kumar’s contention of being the biggest action hero of his era. The talk of him fighting off UnderTaker did rounds for the whole year and Khiladi Kumar got the moment he had been looking for all his life.Hrithik RoshanTaking Abhishek & Uday for a ride after the robbery in Dhoom 2Yeah it’s understandable that he’s known as the Indian superhero but Krrish doesn’t connote to him, style does. The first time Hrithik killed people through his looks and style was with 2006’s Dhoom 2. While the audience had settled in hoping for a cat and mouse chase, he bowled over everyone with his style alone. The escape after the diamond robbery is a sequence that put Hrithik in a different league of actors oozing of styleSalman KhanPicking up a fight in a single screen theater in Tere NaamThe moment came for him more than a decade after he made his debut but it did. A section of college going youngsters found themselves in him when he entered the single theater and started looking for his targets with a torch. He dragged them out kicked asses like he did throughout the movie. The fans he acquired in that particular scene of that particular movie still stand behind Bhai with solidarity. He owes his success to his fans and he owes his fans to Tere Naam. Believe it or not, that scene in Tere Naam has given a different shape to his career that we’re not even sure he is aware of.Can you think of some other turning points in each of these actors’ career? Let us know in comments but remember we’re only talking about SCENES!
