    Time Machine – A time travel film by Shekhar Kapur, it was 2/3rd complete in its making with Aamir Khan as the lead actor. The film was being made in 1992 and also starred Raveena Tandon and Naseeruddin Shah. It was supposed to be the Bollywood remake of the Hollywood film Back To The Future. The filmmaker called off the film and packed his bags for Hollywood.

    Rishta – Thugs of Hindostan is not the first time Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan are collaborating for a film. They were supposed to act together in this film which also starred Madhuri Dixit but the film never took off.

    Mahabharat – A film based on the old mythological tale was to be made in 1999, which also starred Salman Khan, Shahrukh, Anil Kapoor and SunnyDeol. It was to be made by Rajkumar Santoshi but the film never took off.

    Lajjo – Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor were supposed to star in a film titled Lajjo that was based on the works of Urdu playwright Ismat Chughtai. The film was announced by producer Bobby Bedi and the cast was also declared but it eventually never took off due to issues of rights on the film’s script.

    Additionally, Aamir was keen on making a film on K.M. Nanavati, a case that was already being covered by 2 other films, including Akshay Kumar’s Rustom. He even met Mrs Sylvia Nanavati who now resides in London to discuss the film but later shelved it knowing that 2 other movies are already being made on the Nanavati Case.
