Maine Pyaar Kiya was a film that affirmed Salman Khan ’s fate a Bollywood superstar in the industry. 1989, Sooraj Barjaitya film was a blockbuster and also marked the actor’s debut as a lead actor, starring Bhagyashree in the leading role opposite Salman the film had a charm that not many could evade. The film bagged 7 Filmfare Awards of the 35 nominations it got and was surely the biggest film that year.

But not many people know that Sooraj Barjatiya actually rejected Salman Khan when he first showed up for the audition of the film. In fact, Salman Khan himself started suggesting people to Sooraj Barjaitya when he came to know that he had not made it. In line to play Prem in the film were Lagaan director Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Tijori and Faraaz Khan.
