5 Bollywood Stars Who Are Changing Their Filmy Career Paths This Year
In our dear, unpredictable Bollyland nobody can be certain that what works and what doesn’t. While some actors continue essaying roles that have consistently worked for them, some prefer to constantly dabbling between roles from different and sometimes even contrasting genres.
However, every once in a while every actor tries to give their career an entirely different path. Whether it going for different genres or dabbling between content oriented and mainstream entertainers, these 5 Bollywood actors seem determined to change their career trajectories this year by choosing entirely different kind of films that they were doing for a while now.
Ranveer Singh
After portraying back to back intense characters in films such as Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani and of course Padmaavat, Ranveer is finally looking ready to break out of his Sanjay Leela Bhansali mold. Some of his biggest released this year would include Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ where he will be seen playing a street rapper and Rohit Shetty’s Simbaa which would be a cop comedy.
Varun Dhawan
When it comes to new-age stars of Bollywood, Varun Dhawan can be termed as the undisputable champion of commercial mainstream success. The actor who started his Bollywood journey with Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ has not registered one flop in his career so far. However, this year with films like October and Sui Dhaaga, seems like Varun is all set to explore the content-driven films instead of the masala entertainers that he has established himself in.
Rajkummar Rao
The disputed superstar of content-driven film, Rajkummar Rao’s Bollywood itinerary has a more mainstream flavor this year. Apart from Omerta which is all set to release on 20th April, the actor will be seen in films such as Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga opposite Sonam Kapoor and Fanney Khan starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anil Kapoor.
Akshay Kumar
After doing back to back social dramas like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Padman and even taking a break from comedy capers, this year Akshay Kumar is all set to change the taste a little. His two most awaited upcoming releases are Kesari which would be based on the historical battle of Saragrahi and Gold, a sports biopic, where he would be seen playing Balbir Singh, the coach of the Indian hockey team which won India its first Olympic gold medal.
Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik Roshan last release was Kaabil is also in a mood to test some new stars. Apart from Krissh 4, the most awaited next release of Hrithik Roshan is going to be Super 30, where he will be playing the role inspired by real-life maths professor Anand Kumar from Patna. This will be Hrithik first foray into the biopic bandwagon which has been the flavor of the season for Bollywood for quite some time now.
