5 Mega Bollywood And TV Projects Ankita Lokhande Turned Down Before She Made Her Debut With Manikarnika
Ankita Lokhande’s Bollywood debut finally come through this year and her fans couldn’t be more pleased. The actress has turned down several TV shows and a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie in her extra long sabbatical before she finally signed the dotted line to play Jhalkari Bai in Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: the Queen of Jhansi. The actress has already admitted that she regretted saying no to Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Padmaavat (no less), you’ll be amazed to know the big TV shows she bailed out on in all these years after Pavitra Rishta.
Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyaar – Ankita was offered Pallavi Kulkarni’s role in the show opposite Ronit Roy. The show could have been a big moment for the actress, but she had other plans.
Yeh Hai Mohabbatein – Ekta Kapoor who launched Akita in Pavitra Rishta has also been turned by the actress when she approached her for a small cameo as Shanaya on the show. After Her refusal, Divyanka did the part herself.
Chakravartin Ashok Samrat – The period drama was another opportunity for Ankita Lokhande to come back to the TV space, but she turned it down for it being the role of a mother.
Bajirao Mastani – SLB had approached Ankita for a part in this Ranveer Deepika film but she bowed out as she wasn’t the headspace.
Padmaavat – Sanjay Leela Bhansali approached a second time for Padmaavat and yet again she turned him down but later regretted it.
Anikta has already bagged a second movie starring Sanjay Dutt called Mangal while her debut film Manikarnika still continues to run in theatres.
