5 Things That Happened In January That Proves That 2018 Is A Year Of Hope!
2018 has just begun and at the very start, it looks like a year full of hope and prosperity.
With the start of every year, we expect that all the problems of the last year would vanish and it would be a new dawn. But, not always does that hope come true. More often than not, the coming years seem to be worse than the previous year. For example, from the Bollywood perspective, 2017 was one of the worst years possible. There were a lot of rivalries, controversies and box-office failures. To add to that, there were also issues with the release of films like Padmavati and Lipstick Under My Burkha.
But the very first month of 2018 brought with it a whiff of fresh air. Here is a list of 5 things that happened in January that makes us feel hopeful about 2018:
1. Padmavati aka Padmaavat finally released
The film had been slated for quite some time and to add to that, goons from Karni Sena had vandalised everything, from school buses to cinema halls to colleges playing Ghoomar. But nonetheless, the film finally saw the light of the day, all thanks to the Supreme Court. In fact, the states that had imposed ban had to lift it, but owing to the ongoing troubles, the Multiplex Association Of India decided to not show the film in 3 states. Nonetheless, the film opened with amazing box office collection.
2. An Anurag Kashyap film released with a U/A Certificate, without problems
Anurag Kashyap is well known for always locking horns with the Central Board of Film Certification. But this time, his film Mukkabaaz not just got a smooth certification from the CBFC, it also got a U/A certificate! Can you beat that?
3. A film on drugs is released, without any fuss!
We are talking about Kaalakandi, that released with an A certificate. Plus, no one created any fuss about the use of the drug, LSD, shown in the film.
4. Bollywood and the audience warmed up to another adult film actress
After Sunny Leone, pornstar Mia Malkova also made Bollywood debut. Well, it was via the web in RGV's new film God, Sex and Truth. It did face some backlash though.
