6 Upcoming Bollywood Projects That Are A Remake Of Hollywood Films
Bollywood has a long history of adapting Hollywood films, officially or mostly unofficially into desi projects and it mostly thinks that copying Hollywood is the fastest way to earn more money at the box office. Be it the high-octane action entertainers, romantic comedies, dramas, horror or even children films, Bollywood has shamelessly copied Hollywood films and it is the ritual that will go on forever.
Over the years, Bollywood producers have started to go the official route and take the blessing of producers and studios from the west to adapt their films. After securing the rights, some minor tweaks in the script according to the Indian audiences help them to earn scores of money from the audiences most of the times. But still, there are few films that underperform. Nevertheless, Bollywood has a lot of upcoming adaptations of Hollywood films, here are 6 of them:
Red: Anil Kapoor has bought the rights to Bruce Willis starrer Red. The film was based on the comic book of the same name by DC Comics and focused on a group of retired mercenaries coming together to fight against a group of criminals and warlords. The film was a huge success and received positive reviews from the critics and general audiences. Anil Kapoor has started production on the Indian adaptation and it's in development.
Rambo: Tiger Shroff will step into the shoes of John Rambo, a role made iconic by Sylvester Stallone. Siddharth Anand of Bang-Bang fame, who is known to direct Bollywood films that are majorly influenced or adapted from Hollywood blockbusters. The first look of Tiger Shroff as the mercenary was released a few months back and everyone's looking forward to the film.
Drive: Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez will star in the action thriller Drive that is adapted from 2011 film of the same name starring Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan in lead roles. Tarun Mansukhani of Dostana fame will be directing the film and it will be interesting to see Bollywood's take on an iconic film.
The Fault In Our Stars: Sushant Singh Rajput will appear in another Hollywood adaptation where he will be taking over the role of Augustus Waters that was played by Ansel Elgort in the Hollywood film. The film is adapted from the novel of the same name. The film will be directed by casting director Mukesh Chhabra.
Modern Family: Anil Kapoor has bought the production rights for popular TV Sitcom modern family that focuses on 3 American families which are full of eccentric and colorful characters. The TV series is in development at a major TV channel.
24: Anil Kapoor will soon start shooting for Season 3 of his popular TV series that was an official adaptation of Kiefer Sutherland starrer 24. The series has been praised for its quality of action, direction and performances and audiences will get to see the next season soon.
