7 Regional Film Stars Who Debuted In Bollywood In 2017!

2017 has not been a great year so far for Bollywood. All the biggest movies released this year could not make a mark at the Box Office and only a few could win the hearts of the audience. Only recently, Golmaal Again and Judwaa 2 could break the dry spell that Bollywood had been experiencing, and insiders are hoping that this can get only better by the year-end with Padmavati and Tiger Zinda Hai!

But, if we move over from Box Office, the year has shown many positive changes. One, this has been a year for small budget films and two; there are many talents from regional cinema who made their debut in Bollywood. Had their debuts been impactful? 1. Parvathy

The South Indian star has starred in a number of Malayalam and Tamil movies and is a popular name there. She will be making her Bollywood debut opposite Irrfan Khan in the rom-com film Qarib Qarib Singlle.

2. Mehreen Pirzada

Mehreen maybe a really young star who has just started out, but she has made her presence felt in the Kollywood industry. She made her Bollywood debut in the Anushka Sharma starrer Phillauri.

3. Arpita Pal

She is a noted actress in the Bengali film industry. She did a different role in Shab, which unfortunately bombed at the box-office.

4. Aishwarya Rajesh

Aishwarya Rajesh is a huge name in the Tamil film industry. She has appeared in a number of films and also won awards for her performance. She made her Bollywood debut with Arjun Rampal starrer ‘Daddy’.

5. Rajatava Dutta

The actor, who has starred in so many films in the Bengali film industry, had made his debut in Meri Pyaari Bindu as Abhimanyu aka Ayushmann’s father.

6. Aparajita Auddy

She is known for her nuanced performances and is a known name in the Bengali film industry. She had made her debut as Ayushmann’s mother in Meri Pyaari Bindu.

7. June Malia

June is considered one of the most underrated actresses in the Bengali film industry and has garnered a lot of critical praise as well as audiences’ appreciation for her performance. She had a very small and limited role in Meri Pyaari Bindu as Bindu aka Parineeti Chopra’s mother.
