6 Upcoming Bollywood Films That Have Been Jinxed Since They Were Announced!
Bollywood as an industry believes strongly in superstitions and has really fair reasons to be this way. Right from January being considered a jixed month to release films, to actors adding and subtracting alphabets from their names for a viable Bollywood career, there is no shortage of examples of the industry’s superstitions. There are also several movies that have had to struggle since their announcement and in their making phases and some of these jinxed movies got shelved in the preproduction stage despite much anticipation around them. Take a look at these upcoming films that have been facing difficulty since their announcement and seem to be entirely jinxed!
Padmavati
Sanjay Leela Bhasali’s ambitious production, the film has been facing trouble since the mega director started on it. Right from the difficulty in finding the right actors for the part, where a lot of names were considered and rejected, to an unfortunate death on the sets of the film there have been many things stalling the making of the film.
Not just that, but the entire attack on the sets of Padmavati and on Sanjay Leela Bhasali himself, in Rajasthan by the Karni Sena have not been real moral boosters in its making. Whilst the film finally seemed to have broken the jinx with a tentative release date of 1st December 2017, several state bans, protests by groups, CBFC reviews as well as threats to the life of the actors and staff have prompted the film to be delayed till 2018 at the very least.

It was a news that the entire Bollywood rejoiced, the coming together of Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan for a movie, but unfortunately the Yash Raj film that is due to release in 2018, was finding it difficult to fix an actresss. Although this has been remedied with Fatima Sana Sheikh and Katrina Kaif coming on board, the issue had stalled production for a long time.

The sequel of the hit 2011, Student Of The Year, that marked the debut of Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, has been in the pipeline for a while now. While original was directed by Karan Johar himself, the second film starring Tiger Shroff in the lead will be directed by Punit Malhotra. It’s been a while since the film has been announced but sadly this one too has faced its fair share of issues.
To begin with, the film had no lead actress for the longest time. Initially, Saif Ali Khan’s daughter, Sara Ali Khan was finally fixed for the lead role but her debut was also in a lot of controversy where as it was being said that her father wasn’t really comfortable with her making her debut in a Karan Johar film. Then Amrita Singh was said to be having problems with her bikini scenes and we don’t know where the film is going. Whilst this may have been finally solved with the inclusion of Ananya Panday recently, let's hope this is the end of all problems for this project!

The 2002 thriller has a sequel announced and long pending. The film was finally announced in August in 2016 and will be starring Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Arshad Warsi, and Regina Cassandra. But despite the announcement the film has not yet been able to go on floors.
Ileana D'Cruz who was said to be a prominent part of the movie’s cast was astonished to hear her name and decided to take legal action against the makers as she never consented to be a part of the film. Akshay Kumar’s replacement with Aarshad Warsi has also been controversial and two other actors are waiting to be announced but the film has not been able to go on floors yet.

Everything about the third installment of this hit comic franchise has been jinxed since its announcement. The film that was to have gone on floors in 2014 has had many members leaving the project for good. With Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar bidding good bye to the franchise, John Abraham, Nana Patekar and Abhishek Bachchan were brought on board. The film was said to have no script and Abhishek left the project followed by John in 2016.
Not just the actors but the film’s director Neeraj Vohra is said to have abandoned the project and has been replaced by Ahmed Khan. The film was slated to release in 2017 but there has been no positive sign of the film’s making yet.
Similarly Shuddhi which was much anticipated from the house of Karan Johar had a series of actors walking out on the project including Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, and Kareena Kapoor. When finally Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan’s name was finalized the film ultimately got shelved due to all the uncertainties.
Whatever the fate of these films their difficulties do make us believe in the big, bad, Bollywood jinx!
