I Met Fawad Khan And I Had No Clue How Famous He Was
If you’re a die-hard Fawad Khan fan, you’re about to be flabbergasted.
Alright! You can close your mouth that is wide open right now and calm your mind which I’m sure is in a state of bafflement. While you struggle to believe that how could a girl not know how famous Fawad Khan is, I honestly confess that I had no idea why women swoon over this actor when I met him in person.
The room which was usually not jam packed, was suddenly filled with all the women in the world, dressed in their best attires, and security had to be called to handle the footfall. By that time I had sensed that I was in the middle of a landmark event where women had come to get just a glimpse of the Pakistani actor. Fawad entered in the premises and all I could hear was orgasmic sighs and giggles followed by OMG OMG OMG OMG…
I had never watched a single episode of his famous TV series Zindagi Gulzar Hai or Humsafar, and I had not even watched Khubsoorat. I found him good looking and all I’d seen him was in the promos of his upcoming Bollywood movie.
My job was to cover the event live, so I sat right in the first row, first seat perpendicular to the place where Fawad Khan sat. I was busy setting up my equipment while the room was buzzing as Fawad sat on the stage. We were almost 6 feet away from each other. I watched him talk, observed his gestures and many girls around me were gazing at me like vultures with a <WTF! WHY IS SHE SITTING SO CLOSE TO HIM? > expression!
Girls rushed over to hug him (almost in a stampede like a swarm of bees), asked him questions, told him ‘I Love You!’ kept blushing endlessly and I kept panning my phone to cover all the fandom.
What I liked about Fawad was his humility and decency to oblige every single girl; I repeat every-single-girl in the room with selfies and hugs. He didn’t break a single heart that day and kept smiling as he requested the security to let the girls come around him and have their moment. Fawad spoke about similarities he found between Pakistan and India on the streets and food, and how he was amazed to see the rapid development and high rise buildings which weren’t that popular in Pakistan at that point of time.
I finished the broadcast and packed up my stuff. While Fawad spoke, he looked at me and smiled (I’d like to unapologetically tell myself here that he was wondering why I wasn’t amazed, LOL) and it makes me think that he also must have wondered with the blank expression on my face while all other girls were drooling over him.
I’m a bit too shy to ask stars for selfies, and some of the few I have are purely out of co-incidence. I wasn’t interested in taking one with him, though I later felt I should have taken one.
Today, I’ve watched all episodes of Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai. I’ve bookmarked a few scenes I love, saved quotes and snippets from the shows. I follow all fanclubs of Fawad on social media and I converse with my friends and family using Fawad Khan Gifs in the messengers. Even on a bad or dull day, a glimpse of this man makes life happier again. I now know the fact why girls drool over him and what makes him a splendid actor par excellence. I often watch him dance in Cutiepie on the web to cheer up my mood. I strongly feel that he should make more movies, more TV shows and we need to get him back to Bollywood.
Today, I get teased by my colleagues and friends about that incident, and I wish I could go back in time and just tell him once how much I adore him and acknowledge his talent. So, yeah, I did meet Fawad Khan and I had no clue about his stupendous popularity.
