Virasat: The 1997 film was Priyadarshan's debut in the Hindi film industry and it was adapted from a Tamil film named Thevar Magan. It featured Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Tabu and Pooja Batra in main roles and was a big hit at the box-office as well as won 7 Filmfare Awards.
