Hera Pheri Turns 18 Today! Here Are A Few Things You Didn't Know About The Film

On this day, exactly 18 years ago, a film called Hera Pheri hit the theatres and set the benchmark on how to make a comedy film right. The film wasn't exactly a hit at the time of its release and picked only after its 5th week based on a strong word of mouth. The critics and the audiences gave their thumbs up to the film and the antics of Raju, Shyam and Babu Rao won over everyone. 

Over the years, the film has attained a cult status and its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri was also a box-office hit leaving the audiences wanting for more. Hera Pheri was directed by Priyadarshan and it was a remake of Malayalam film Ramji Rao Speaking. Neera Vora wrote the screenplay and the film is now imprinted on almost everyone's mind thanks to the countless reruns on TV. But audiences never get bored of it and that's the mark of a good cult film.
