Marlon Brando: The legendary actor won his second Oscar for best actor for The Godfather in 1973 but refused to accept the Award. The actor was protesting against the treatment of Native Americans by the Hollywood fraternity and did not accept the Award.
Jean Luc Godard: The legendary French filmmaker was the winner of an Honorary Oscar in 2010 but refused to attend the Award Ceremony as he was very old and also could not smoke cigars on the plane.
Peter O'Toole: The acclaimed actor was the winner of an Honorary Oscar in 2003 but refused and stated that he would like to win on his own before being presented with an Honorary one. He, later on, accepted the award.
Dudley Nichols: The screenwriter won the Oscar for The Informer in 1935 but refused to accept the award as he was part of Writer's guild which was protesting the ceremony and was on a strike.
