Oscars 2018: Check Out The List Of First Time Nominees
The Academy announced the list of nominees for the 90th edition of Academy Awards which will honour the best films, artists and performances of 2017. The Ceremony will take place in Los Angeles, California and will be hosted by popular Late Night Show host and comedian, Jimmy Kimmel. Just like every year's nominations, this year's nominations too had surprise nominees and major snubs.
A number of independent dramas and their stars & directors scored nominations ahead of big stalwarts such as Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, Ridley Scott etc. and the list of nominees for the best director is dominated by 3 first time nominees. In the acting categories too, the first-timers dominate. The Shape of Water by the Mexican director Guillermo del Toro leads with 13 nominations in different categories.
