7 Pakistani Films And TV Shows That Took Major Inspirations From Bollywood Films!
Pakistan and India would have been one nation, along with Bangladesh, had the 1947 Partition never happened. Needless to say, despite many differences we share some connections. The cultural taste of both the countries are quite similar. While Bollywood films find a good audience in Pakistan, and we have loved Pakistani serials and their stars. In fact, many Pakistani actors, actresses and singers have been loved by us.
We also continuously exchange ideas with each other. We have had Bollywood songs that were heavily inspired from Pakistan. Well, Lollywood and Pakistani serials also have taken major inspirations from Bollywood. In fact, many are remakes or adaptations of Bollywood films! 1. Arth 2 from Mahesh Bhatt's Arth
Arth 2 recently released in Lollywood and it is an adaptation of Mahesh Bhatt's Arth. Critics have felt that it is a very stylised version and lacks the earthiness of the original.
2. Hameeda and Lakht-E-Jigar from Vachan
Both the films had taken a lot of its story from Geeta Bali's Vachan which released in 1955.
3. Naukar from Aulad
This was probably the earliest remakes of a Bollywood film to be made, right after The Partition. Naukar was the remake of Mohan Segal’s Aulad, starring Usha Kiron, Balraj Sahni and Nirupa Roy and released in 1955.
4. Naazo from Barfi
The drama took inspirations not just from Barfi but also from Urmila Matondkar starrer Tahzeeb. In fact, the character played by Soniya Hussain was an exact copy of Jhilmil from Barfi.
5. Koi Nahi Apna from Akele Hum Akele Tum
The TV series showed the same conflict in the man as in the film. He aspired for his career and ignored his family. It also resembled the Pakistani film Aina at some parts.
6. Yeh Mera Deewana Pan
The TV series showed an obsessive lover, much like SRK's character in the film. In fact, in the serial Junaid Khan is crazy for Saima Khan but his dad is against their relationship!
7. Izataraab from We Are Family
Wel, we cannot strictly call it a remake of an Indian film since We Are Family has also been copied from the Hollywood film Step Mom.
