With Race 3 And Sanju, June Looks Set To Be An Ultimate Blockbuster Month For Bollywood
We are now midway in the year 2018 and Bollywood has had a tremendous run till now thanks to the success of different films. After a tepid 2017 where big star vehicles failed to get audiences' attention and small films ruled the roost, 2018 saw success in both masala potboilers as well as content-oriented cinema.
Also, with changing times, Bollywood is also evolving and a number of films releasing this year have set their foot firmly in reality which shows that content and practicality are also in filmmakers' and producers' minds as well. Almost every popular star is coming out with a performance-oriented role as well. The audiences will have difficulty picking a favorite by the end of this year as we are going to see some great films in the 2nd half of 2018 as well.
June especially looks set to be the perfect blockbuster month for Bollywood as some of the biggest and most awaited films of the year will release every week of this month! Yes, you read that right! 4 weeks and 4 ultimate big star vehicles which are bound to set the box-office on fire:
Race 3: A Salman Khan film is undoubtedly the biggest release of the year and once you add a successful franchise, action-genre, and a popular ensemble, you get the perfect cinematic cocktail which is bound to rock the box-office. The trailer has sent Salman's fans into a frenzy and everyone is expecting the film to cross 300 Crores. With 2 weeks clear ahead of Race 3 until Sanju's release, it seems highly possible.
Sanju: Ranbir Kapoor will star as Sanjay Dutt in his biopic and the film is directed by Rajkumar Hirani. A film by a director who has given the highest grossing movies of Indian cinema not once but twice (3 Idiots and PK), and an actor who is probably the most talented of the current actor's crop, the film looks set to get a record opening and earn big numbers at the box-office.
Kaala: Now, whenever Superstar Rajinikanth is coming out with a film, the occasion is nothing less than a festival in itself and going by his last release Kabali's fever, it seems that Kaala is already on its way to destroy previous box-office records by South Indian films. Bollywood actors Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi and Pankaj Tripathi star in Kaala as well. The film will also release in Hindi.
Veere Di Wedding: An all female-led buddy comedy starring some of the best actresses working in Bollywood today has achieved the biggest opening day for a female-led film. It shows that India is slowly warming to all the genres and not just looking at the 'heroes' to lead a film. Even though Veere clashed with Bhavesh Joshi, its turning in big numbers which is a positive sign for more female-led films to come.
