Sanju Box Office: Will The Ranbir Kapoor Starrer Be Able To Beat The Opening Day Collections Of These Rajkumar Hirani Films

Rajkumar Hirani is one of the most successful directors working in Bollywood. Till now, he has directed 5 films and 4 of them have been hugely successful at the box-office (Sanju's result is awaited). He hasn't made a bad film and all of his films rank among the best films of the years they were released. His latest effort Sanju hit the theatres earlier today.

Sanju is one of the most awaited films of the year and undoubtedly the biggest film of Ranbir Kapoor's career. The film is expected to open in big numbers and if it can sustain on a positive word of mouth, it may become one of the highest earning films of 2018. Here are the opening day collections of Rajkumar Hirani's films:

Munnabhai MBBS: Rajkumar Hirani's debut film starred Sanjay Dutt as the lovable goon who wants to become a doctor. Shah Rukh Khan was earlier approached for the role but things couldn't materialize and Sanjay eventually starred as Munnabhai and the role became eponymous with him. The film earned 1.06 Crores on its opening day.

Lage Raho Munna bhai: Rajkumar Hirani followed up his directorial debut with Lage Raho Munnabhai and Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt reprised their roles as Circuit and Munna bhai. The film wasn't a direct follow up to Munnabhai MBBS and focused on the subject of Gandhigiri. It collected 3.38 Crores on its opening day. 

3 Idiots: The film was a landmark hit in the Hindi film Industry. Not only it inspired hundreds of millions of people all over the world, it also became the first film to cross 200 Crores at the domestic box-office. 3 Idiots earned 12.98 Crores on its first day. 

PK: Rajkumar Hirani took 5 years for his next directorial venture which starred Aamir Khan in the lead role and the film was a satire on the blind faith in religion and god by the common folk. The film earned 25.45 Crores on its opening day and collected 337 Crores in India. It became an All Time Blockbuster.

Sanju: Rajkumar Hirani's latest film releases today and if the reports are to be believed, the film may gross somewhere around 30 Crores. The advance booking has been one of the best so far for this year's films with northern territories of India seeing close to 80-90% booking.
