7 Upcoming Indian Films Which Have Already Landed In Trouble
2018 has, by far, proved to be a year of hope for Bollywood. In the short span of just a month, an Anurag Kashyap film got a smooth release and Padmaavat finally got to see the light of the day post almost a year of trouble and protests. In fact, a film on drugs released in this span too! Now, even Karni Sena has withdrawn protests against Padmaavat and has assured that the film will release in the few states in which it was boycotted.
But even though the year might have started on a good note, we are apprehensive that it would continue this way. Trouble always seems to brew in the industry because a few of the films, every year, would face hurdles either from the censor board or from some groups amongst the audience. This year too, we believe that a few films might land up in trouble. Here is a list of 7 Bollywood Upcoming Movies that might land up in trouble:
1. Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi
We all know what happened to Padmaavat before its release. The same problem was faced by Jodha Akbar and later Mohenjo Daro was faced with questions of authentic portrayal. We are highly doubtful if Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi will get a smooth release. In fact, Kangana Ranaut is infamous for speaking her heart in the bluntest ways possible. Therefore, the film has a high chance of getting into controversies.
2. The Accidental Prime Minister
When the book itself released, a lot of controversies were stirred. Now that the book will be converted into a film, there is no doubt that it will face some trouble from Congress, the party from which Manmohan Singh was elected as the Prime Minister. Anupam Kher will star as the former PM.
3. Kesari
The upcoming Akshay Kumar starrer was earlier supposed to be a joint production venture between Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, and Karan Johar. The film is based on the Battle of Saragarhi and Kesari is the 3rd project centered on the same topic. Mohit Raina and Randeep Hooda are also leading their own vehicles on this topic. Its said that Salman Khan backed out of Kesari because Ajay Devgn requested him as he had announced his project first. Due to tense relations between Ajay Devgn and Karan Johar, Salman let go of the film.
4. Parmanu
The upcoming John Abraham starrer landed in a major controversy as KriArj Entertainment who was co-producing the film with John filed a complaint against him. John was also a co-producer and abruptly ended his deal with KriArj entertainment over the delay of payments. John went ahead and announced a new release date but it's unlikely that the film will release as of now.
5. Bazaar
The Saif Ali Khan starrer first landed in trouble with the Censor Board who was not willing to certify it until and unless some of the scenes were cut while later on the distributors refused to buy rights for the film as it wasn't Bollywood-ish enough. Some scenes were re-shot and the film is currently slated to release on 27th April.
6. Kaala
The upcoming Rajinikanth starrer has been in troubled waters for a long time. The makers are finding a hard time looking for a perfect release date while the film has also courted controversy over the charges of plagiarism. R Rajasekaran came forward and said that the title and story of the film belonged to him and he even narrated the film to one of the producers.
7. Chanda Mama Door Ke
The upcoming Sushant Singh Rajput starrer was scheduled to release during Republic Day weekend this year but the film has been postponed. The film was announced with much fanfare and the producers underestimated the production budget, now the film's future lies in limbo.
