7 Upcoming Female Centric Films That Will Hit The Theatres in 2018!
Women-centric movies had been a highlight in 2017. There have been as many as 20 female-centric films in 2017. Compared to that 2018 seems to be a little slower. As of now, 5 such films will release in 2018. But all of them look absolutely enthralling as they either promise an interesting watch or will mark a comeback for our favourite heroines on screen. Let us have a look at the upcoming female-centric films of 2018:
1. Hichki
This film will deal with the ordeal of a teacher who has Tourette's syndrome. The difficult term has been broadly called 'hichki'. The film is the remake of the Hollywood film, First Of The Class. What makes it even more interesting is the fact that it will mark the comeback of Rani Mukherji post her maternity. The trailer is already out and has garnered a lot of positive feedback. It will hit the theatres on 23rd February 2018.
2. Pari
While the storyline of the film has not been revealed yet, the posters of the film have made all of us excited. The haunting look that Anushka Sharma dons is interesting. The film will also have Parambrata Chatterjee of Kahaani fame. This film will also release in February.
3. Padmavati
The film was scheduled for a December 2017 release, but thanks to mass protests, the film had been deferred. The film has finally gone for certification, but will probably release somewhere around April. The story is based on the fables of the bravery of Rani Padmini of Chittor, who committed Johar rather than being captured by Alauddin Khalji.
4. Raazi
The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel, Calling Sehmat. It is about a Kashmiri spy who marries a Pakistani officer in the backdrop of the Indo-Pak war of 1971. Alia Bhatt will be seen in the lead along with Vicky Kaushal and the film will release on 11th May 2018.
5. Veeray Di Wedding
The film will see the sister 'mance' between four women played by Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The film will release on 18th May 2018.
6. Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi
The film is about the life and the bravery of Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi. The titular character will be played by Kangana Ranaut and the film will most likely release on 27 April 2018.
7. JASMINE - The Story of a leased womb This movie has supposedly been offered to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. It will be produced by Kri Arj in association with writers/directors Sidharth and Garima.
