Almost everyone from the audiences to people working in Bollywood has high hopes from 2018. The year 2017 was quite an underwhelming year as we saw different big star vehicles failing miserably at the box-office which left everyone shocked. This year will see a release from almost every big star and expectations are sky high as almost all of them have films on interesting topics.
2018 has seen films from different genres succeeding at the box-office. Padmaavat, Raid, Hichki, Sonu ke Titu Ki Sweety, Baaghi 2 and PadMan have become commercially successful with Padmaavat crossing 300 Crores in India. There is an interesting slate of films which are going to hit the theatres in May. Here's why May makes it an exciting month for Bollywood:
102 Not Out: The Umesh Shukla directorial is a comedy-drama starring Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor as father and son. Both actors are appearing together onscreen after a long gap it will be interesting to see their dynamic. The trailer was well received and we are excited about the film.
Omerta: The Rajkummar Rao starrer is directed by Hansal Mehta. Whenever these have come together for a film, the result has always been explosive. The film is getting rave reviews from all the film festivals it has been to and from all the people who have seen this. Rajkummar Rao in a negative role would be a delight to watch.
Raazi: The upcoming Alia Bhatt starrer also stars Vicky Kaushal and Rajit Kapoor in prominent roles. It is said to be based on a true story and is a spy thriller based on the events of 1971 during the war between India and Pakistan. The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka's novel Calling Sehmat.
Bhavesh Joshi: The upcoming Harshvardhan Kapoor starrer is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and is another superhero film to come out of Bollywood. The film focuses on a vigilante and his fight against corruption. The trailer has already piqued audiences interest for the film and it seems like an interesting watch.
Parmanu: The John Abraham-Diana Penty starrer has been waiting for its release since last year's December. The film has been surrounded by controversies as the producers are fighting over the ownership of the film but John has promised that the film will release on 25th May. It is a story of how India became a nuclear nation after successfully conducting tests in Pokhran, Rajasthan.
