Some love him, some adore him and some simply worship him. It is probably safe to say that of all Bollywood stars, Salman Khan has the most loyal fan base. His unique style and persona have made him one of the biggest superstar of our generation. Salman beating up baddies, kicking up a storm, firing bullets or making witty wisecracks are what Bhai fans live by and it is this craze which has led to a situation where we have forgotten that flop films even existed in Salman’s filmography.

But even after all the fandom, one common complaint against Salman is his refusal to serve us variety. He has created a zone for himself and rarely steps out of it. But can we blame him for not experimenting with his roles?

Tubelight

One of Salman Khan recent disappointments, Tubelight was not as popular with Bhai fans. He played a simpleton with the innocence of a child who sets out to bring back his brother who has gone to fight in the Sino-Indian War. Although the film managed to make money at the box-office, it was not liked by most Bhai fans.

Jaan-E-Mann

Shirish Kunder’s directorial debut was a complete disaster. The film which was done in a style of a musical failed to have any effect on audience apart from boring them to death. It was nothing like anything Salman Khan had tried his hands on previously and looking at the fate of the film we totally understand. Nobody wants another Jaan-E-Mann!

Veer

This was one film that Salman Khan even turned a writer for. But despite all the hype, the period drama had a dismal run at the box-office. Quite understandably we have never seen Salman Khan in any period drama after Veer.

Main Aur Mrs. Khanna

It is hard to imagine, but yes Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor did a film that tried to portray the complications of marriage! Needless to say, Main Aur Mrs. Khanna is one of the biggest disappointments of Salman and Kareena’s career and Salman since then we have not seen Salman doing anything on the similar lines.

London Dreams and Yuvvraaj

It is probably safe to assume that people do not like Salman Khan as a musician in films. Apart from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, the two other films in which he played musicians, London Dreams and Yuvvraaj both failed miserably. Even the extra v and a could not save them. We guess Bhai fans doesn’t even like music to steal focus from Salman!
