10 Actors Who Are Yet To Make an Impact Even After Delivering Major Hits
It is not easy for debutants to make it in Bollywood. In the strange Bollyland there is no fixed formula for success. One can have all the boxes ticked in the check list, but still success seems to elude them. Even being a part of blockbusters does not guarantee success or a permanent place in the hearts of audiences. Here are ten people who even after being part of blockbusters are struggling to make a lasting impact with their performances.
The bubbly beauty made her foray into the Bollywood with a strong performance in ‘Ishaqzaade’ and has recently tasted massive box office success in ‘Golmaal Again’. Although the box office has been kind to her films and audiences generally loved her performances, she is yet to deliver a performance that would be etched in the memory of film lovers.
After getting an enviably important character in ‘Kyunki Ki Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, Pulkit’s entry into Bollywood with the movie ‘Bittu Boss’ met with a rather lukewarm response. However, his films ‘Fukrey’ and ‘Fukrey Returns’ met with a surprising box office collection But even after playing the main lead in both films, people just don’t seem to remember his performance.
She is pretty, a style icon, has a knock out body and a horde of stupendously successful films that includes ‘Kick’, ‘Murder 2’ and ‘Housefull 2’ in her kitty. But, even then, is she a bankable star? Perhaps not. She has established herself as a glam diva, but people are yet to watch Jacqueline Fernandez as an actor and shouldering the entire responsibility of a film.
This one is actually a confusing story. Her Bollywood debut ‘Luv Ka The End’ came and tanked without a trace. Then came ‘Aashiqui 2’ and she tasted box office that even major stars would be envious of. She even got a chance to play powerful woman protagonist in ‘Haseena Parkar’, but even after such a record, it is difficult to recall a performance by Shradhha Kapoor that audience sat up and took a note of.
Aditya Roy Kapoor
It is strange how the lead pair of one of the most successful films of a particular year, features on this list. Like Shradhha Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor’s debut also went largely unnoticed. And then when Ashique 2 happened, he was standing at the verge of major stardom. But somehow he has since then resorted to mostly playing protagonist’s friend and an alcoholic and mostly both.
Ok, I might just get abused for this, but even if you are the biggest Katrina fan, just close your eyes and try to think of one movie that you remember just for Katrina, and no the dance sequences don’t count. Give up, because there isn’t any. She probably has one of the highest number of blockbusters to her name, but none of them introduced us to the acting talent in her.
So here is my issue with Sidhharth Malhotra, the guy either need to start putting more efforts in acting or just stop looking that hot. This is just unfair. On a serious note, a dream debut, superstar looks and even successful films, even after every aspect being in his favour, Sidhharth Malhotra is more popular for his looks than for his memorable cinematic performances.
This one is especially sad given he is basically a good actor. After a promising debut and good number of successful films, audiences are yet to witness his breakthrough performance. He has actually initially shown an interesting approach to choosing scripts of different genre but none in none of his ventures he has given a performance that has had a lasting impact.
When she broke into the Bollywood with ‘Barfi’ the audience thought that Bollywood has discovered another captivating face that would have a lot to offer. However, whether it is her choice of scripts, bad luck or lack of zeal, but after her debut she has mostly featured in mediocre films or delivered lack lustre performances in successful films in which she played forgettable characters.
She debuted opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar which after initial hiccups, over the years have become one of the most loved films in the last decade. In a film where the actor, music and direction was sheer magic, she was perhaps the weakest link. She made an attempt to deliver a knock out performance in movies such as Madras Café, but her attempts only met with a unsatisfying response. In a career spanning over seven years she is at the most remembered for item numbers such as ‘ Dhaating Naach’ and ‘Yaar Na Miley’.
