When it came to mainstream success he also tasted the same with films such as ‘ Dhoom ’ franchise, ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ and ‘ Dostana ’. What could have been a well-balanced career turned out to be a bumpy ride.

Being Amitabh Bachchan 's son proved to be more of a bane than a boon for him. What people conveniently chose to ignore was he was just another newcomer on whom the pressure of replicating the success of a legend was grossly unfair. People perhaps wanted to re-live the young Amitabh Bachchan through him, but here was somebody who tried to be first Abhishek Bachchan and not a second Amitabh Bachchan.
