Our lives are never really perfect and endings are often not as rose tinted as we would like to believe. However, Bollywood, in general, has always tried to propagate the idea that endings are supposed to be happy. 

    But there are certain directors who take a closer look at life and just like life itself they rarely believe in a happy conclusion to their stories. Leads dying, people losing and with all other messy emotions, these are a few directors whose films usually do not have a happy ending.

The director who is known for making epic love stories come alive on screen, usually have a knack for killing his lead by the end of the picture. Although Sawaariya was one film where nobody dies in the end, but surely no one can the ending a happy one.
