8 Bollywood Actors Whose Deteriorating Film Choices Is Making Us Worried

Our love for him has dwindled one bit, but the fact that he is making bad choices when it comes to films is just too obvious to ignore. For the person who has given the most iconic characters of Bollywood and had perfectly balanced commercial elements with genuinely good cinema simply should not have said yes to scripts like Happy New Year , Dilwale or Jab Harry Met Sejal. Although both Happy New Year and Dilwale were commercial successes, we usually expect so much more from a Shah Rukh Khan film.

This might be an unpopular opinion but dismal box office film performances of one of the finest actors we have in Bollywood presently can mean only thing- she is choosing wrong scripts. Her last three films Katti Batti , Rangoon and Simran all sank at the box office even though her performance was duly appreciated. We surely think she should re-evaluate her selection process and do films that compliment her stellar performances.

Aditya Roy Kapoor made an impressive foray into Bollywood and was immediately noticed for not just his affable charm but also his acting chops. But of late the choices he has been making are just going well for him. He initially showed a knack for variety but of late has got stuck with mostly same kind of roles. A reflection of his failing choices are films such as Ok Jaanu, Fitoor and Dawat-e- Ishq which not only not challenge him enough as an actor but also failed at the box-office.

Kareena Kapoor has given some rock solid performances in films such as Omkara and Chameli and let us know what she is capable of as an actor. However her recent film choices do nothing to bring out the powerhouse she is. Yes, she was definitely phenomenal in Udta Punjab recently, but even then, films such as Bajrangi Bhaijaan where her character is restricted to that of a eye candy should have never featured on her filmography.

There was a time when his popularity could give any star in Bollywood a stiff competition. But after making a niche for himself in Bollywood we cannot understand why he would sign shoddy attempts such as Baadshaho , Raaz Reboot or Mr. X and spoil all the hard work that he has put in his career.

We simply can’t believe that the guy who gave us Rock On or Bhaag Milkha Bhaag would come up with something as half baked as Lucknow Central. In Farhan’s case choosing wrong script is all the more tragic because apart from being an actor he is also an ace-director who has a good clarity on what works and what doesn’t. Farhan coming up with disappoints like Rock On 2 or Daddy is just heart breaking.

Starting off with run of the mill masala entertainers of 90s Bollywood, Saif Ali Khan quickly established himself as an actor who is not afraid of making bold choices and as a result he has given us stellar performances in Omkara, HumTum or Parineeta . But of late in a bid to do different films, his film choices have come to appear somewhat self-indulgent which is never a good idea for any actor. His last three releases, Rangoon, Chef and Kaalaakandi are a resounding reminder that Saif needs to evaluate his script selection procedure.

Early in her career Sonakshi Sinha was clear about the path of her career. Her filmography included full on popcorn entertainers and she looked comfortable in that space and the strategy was working well on the box office too. But of late, in a bid to prove her versatility, she has been jumping into ‘different’ film. But in these unchartered she is making choices that possibly yield a good outcome. Films such as Noor, Akira or Ittefaq are not of her genre and the discomfort is evident.
