Ranked: 10 Best Bollywood Trailers That Came Out In 2017

We may not have been served the best of cinematic content in the frankly forgetful 2017, Bollywood wasn’t behind to innovate in terms of trailers at least. Movies may have flopped, the trailers however were big hits on Youtube and elsewhere. From flamboyance and intrigue binding us over to comedy and emotions making us impatient, trailers in 2017 were quite rapturous to say the least.

Just as the last big trailer of the year Tiger Zinda Hai starring Salman Khan came out today, we figured it’s time we do a review of all the good trailers that came out in the year. So here we come up with our rankings of ten of the best trailers.

Note: Our rankings are based on factors like social media response, cinematic quality, overall appeal & its impact

Rank 10 – Shubh Mangal Saavdhan

One of the funnier movies that came out this year, this light hearted drama set around a quirky tale of erectile dysfunction laid its impact right from when it released its first trailer. The film was also a success at the box office.

Rank 9 – Badrinath Ki Dulhania

One of the biggest successes in the first half of 2017, this Varun Dhawan - Alia Bhatt starrer had a complete trailer that offered romance, comedy and drama all at the same time. Deservingly so, the film was also a big hit at the box office.

Rank 8 – Jab Harry Met Sejal

We know the kind of drag it turned out to be eventually but it got us all excited with its first full length trailer. Directed by Imtiaz Ali , JHMS’s trailer was appealing enough to fake how fresh a take it was going to be on love.

    Rank 7 – Simran

Yet another case of an interesting trailer getting us invested before the film blew it all away. Hansal Mehta ’s Simran had a fantastic trailer and Kangana Ranaut seemed simply fantastic in the trailer itself. It was only when the film got released, people weren’t able to draw a connect with it at all.

    Rank 6 – Trapped

The trailer in itself was enough to send a chill down your spine. Starring Rajkummar Rao , Trapped was intensely gripping trailer that made you feel the stiffness the character was going through on screen. The film in fact was as gripping as the trailer was.

    Rank 5 – Newton

While the film was enchanting enough to make for a wonderful watch this year, the trailer was something that got people talking about it first. With wonderful one lines, idealistic approach and a very believable real set up, Newton won half the battle with its trailer only.

    Rank 4 – Jagga Jasoos

What a beautiful and heartwarming trailer were we presented with this one! While Disney along with Ranbir Kapoor may have lost heavy money on this one, the second trailer of Jagga Jasoos was seemingly mesmerizing. It oozed of freshness and was pretty easy to the eyes and ears.

Rank 3 – Tiger Zinda Hai

The trailer that has blockbuster written all over it is one of the only few to have deservingly garnered clapping and whistles in theaters.  The one that appeals to the classes as well as the single screen masses, Salman Khan will know this one is here to shatter records.

    Rank 2 – Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion

The film that broke all possible records ever set at the box office, Baahubali 2 had made its intentions clear from its itself. Audiences could see the long wait was going to be worth and Indian viewers hadn’t been made witness to something as humongous as this ever before. All thanks to SS Rajamouli!

    Rank 1 – Sachin : A Billion Dreams

If a trailer could give you goosebumps without bothering if you’re a cricket fan, you know it’s magic on screen. Sachin’s trailer had a splurge of emotions in all of its visuals and opened new doors in terms of making a documentary work as well.

Now that we’ve seen almost everything 2017 had to offer us, what do you think about the trailers that came out this year?
