Bollywood Actors Who Failed To Give A Single Hit In 2018 Despite Multiple Releases

We can say it 1000 times but it would still not be enough to say 2018 has possibly been of the best years in Bollywood in probably a decade. Apart from the big event hits, it has been a year where audiences have embraced content-rich cinema with open arms and have made it evident that they would back good performances over big stars, which is a huge win for the industry.

But while some have struck unexpected gold at the box-office, some have been less fortunate. In some cases, the performance was the villain, in some cases, the film was not up to the mark and in some case just pure bad luck, but these are the Bollywood actors who failed to give a single hit in 2018 despite multiple releases.

Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee had quite a year in 2017 with Judwaa 2 being a super hit. However, 2018 has not been so kind to this incredible actress. Taapsee had four releases this year which included Dil Junglee, Mulk, Soorma and Manmarziyaan. But despite her powerful performance in both Mulk and Manmarziyaan, none of the films did well at the box-office.

Sonakshi Sinha

This is one actress who is in dire need of a solo hit in Bollywood right now. Sonakshi had two releases this year including Welcome To New York and Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi, but both of them failed to impress the audience.

Diljit Dosanjh

The much loved Diljit Dosanjh with his Punjabi swag has already won us over with his voice and acting chops. But this year was not a good one for Diljit either given both Welcome To New York and Soorma tuned out to be disappointments at the box-office.

Sunny Deol

The year 2018 has been a year of comebacks, especially for the Deol brothers. The superstar of 90s Sunny Deol has three releases this year after a very long time. However, Yamla Pagla Deewana 3, Mohalla Assi and Bhaiyyaji Superhit all turned out to be flops.

Saif Ali Khan

Saif is one actor of Bollywood who is not new to ups and downs in his box-office performances mostly because of his knack of offbeat scripts. Both of Saif’s releases this year, Kaalakandi and Baazaar, though experimental and liked by critics, failed to work at the box-office. However, he has more than made up for it with the phenomenal success of his web-series Sacred Games

Irrfan Khan

The year 2018 has been all round unfortunate for this exceptionally talented actor. Apart from battling severe health issues, both film of Irrfan including Blackmail and Karwaan has turned out to be total duds at the box-office.

Nawazuddin Siddique

Nawazudding has never been the one to care about box-office but it was the last couple of years it was great to see him get his due as a phenomenal actor. However, this year things did not turn out in his favor. While Nandita Das’ Manto failed to garner mass success due to its niche genre, Nawaz’s presence in a laughable disaster like Genius was difficult to digest.
