After the resounding success of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif pairing in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, it made sense to bring back this pair for another film and Vipul Amrutlal Shah did exactly that with Namastey London. The character of Jazz or Jasmeet played by Katrina was that of an NRI brat who was somewhat cold. Given how Katrina is in real life, the character suited her well and her accented Hindi actually made the character much more believable. It was truly a character that fitted her like a pair of gloves.

Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara

Yet another film where Katrina’s accented Hindi became boon to further strengthen a character that anyway suited Katrina’s personality very well. Even though Katrina does not come across as a personality as free-spirited as Laila in the film, but Katrina was able to convincingly channel the dreamy boho vibes that the character embodied.

Do you see the pattern here? In New York also the character played by Katrina was that of an NRI and thus again she suited the part pretty well. Even though she was hardly adept at communicating intense and complex emotions that the film demanded because the character suited her so well visually, she put her own spin on those scenes and they came out looking pretty well done.

Mere Brother Ki Dulhan

So yeah, she was an NRI in this film as well, which means her looks, her accent was pretty much on point with this one as well. The slightly rebellious streak in her character Dimple Dixit also suited her strong personality in real life and the little goofiness just added to the charm, making this yet another film where Katrina did not look like a misfit.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani

The only entry on this list where Katrina Kaif does not play an NRI, but she plays a Goan girl which according to Indian stereotypes is ‘foreign’ enough, so the pattern continues. In the film, she was just supposed to dreamy and unattainable which are two things Katrina epitomizes anyway. Additionally, her real-life chemistry with Ranbir was reflected amazingly well in the film which made this film quite a pleasant watch.

Zero

Katrina plays a superstar who is battling depression and aced it and how! Well, the role wasn't far from the real life she's already living and it also won her a Filmfare award for the best-supporting actress even when Zero failed miserably at the box office.
