Weird Ways Of Saying Hello To Friends In Bollywood That We Copied At Least Once In Our Lives

What was life in school without trying out stupid tricks on your friends? Although at that point you annoyed your friend as much as possible but those were the small moments that made your friendship memorable. And if you were Bollywood fan chances are most of those silly tricks came from Hindi films of those times.

One of the things that all of us copied and tried out on friends are the bizarre ways in which friends greeted each other, From iconic clap and flick the nose in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or the elaborate greeting ritual of Madhuri Dixit and Akshay Kumar, Bollywood has served some weird ways of saying hello to friends that all of us tried out in life with our friends at least once.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai

One of the most iconic greeting rituals in the history of Bollywood, this was the way Rahul and Anjali cemented their friendship in our eyes. Without fail, all of us 90s kid has done this with our friends at least once.

Dil To Pagal Hai

Apart from the romance between Madhuri and Shah Rukh, Dil Toh Pagal Hai was also about the friendship between Shah Rukh and Karisma and Madhuri Dixit and Akshay Kumar. Akshay and Madhuri who played childhood friends in the film had a really elaborate greeting ritual in the film that we tried to emulate but rarely could remember the whole thing and finish it properly.

Mujhse Shaadi Karogi

This comedy film brought together Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar who turns out to be childhood friends. Instead of a gesture they had an elaborate poem that they recited every time the greeted each other. The lyrics of the poem went something like, ‘Badtameez, chaddar ki Kameez, Bandar tera mama, billi teri mausi, kutta tera yaar, aam ka achar, aaja mere yaar.’

Style

Back in the 2000s, two friends that defined fun friendship for us were Chantu and Bantu in Style and Xcuse Me! Instead of a handshake, they came up with a leg shake of sorts which was the definition of cool greeting rituals back in school.

Although this was not a greeting ritual between two friends, but this is one silly trick that so many of us have tried with our friends, and in some cases gotten our noses punched for the same.
