Worst Recreated Songs Of 2018 So Far That Totally Ruined Our Fond Memories Of The Original One

We recently heard the Ek Ladki Ko Dekha track in the upcoming Sonam Kapoor movie of the same name and instantly crossed our fingers hoping that this one would not ruin the fond memories we have of the original version from 1942 A Love Story which is a classic in its own right.

Well, our fears are not misplaced. The year 2018 has given a lot of memorable songs and albums but it has also ruined a lot of songs for us by re-creating uninspired and downright insulting versions of some of our favorite old songs.

Here are a few Bollywood songs of 2018 that completely ruined the fond memories of the original versions.

Ek Do Teen

This is perhaps one of the most horrible recreations in the history of song recreations. Madhuri’s iconic dance number from Tezaab was reduced to a mockery by Jacqueline in Baaghi 2 and had to bear the fury of a thousand suns from the fans of the original number which basically includes everyone. If Ek Do Teen was a person the Baaghi 2 version would be the most brutal murder in the history of murders…yes, that is how much we hated it!

Zingaat

When the song Zingaat from the Marathi film Sairat came out, the song became an international sensation and was played even in the clubs of New York and cruises in Singapore, thus Dhadak had a huge pressure while recreating the song in Hindi. While the tune was kept the same as that of the original, the Hindi lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya did not impress and the picturization gave birth to a Twitter trend named #zingaatruined and became the butt of many jokes and meme.

Chhotey Chhotey Peg

The original Hans Raj Hans version ‘Tote Tote Ho Gaya’ is still a staple for every wedding function, but the Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety version totally ruined the fond memories we had of the song.

Mundeya Tu Bach Ke Rahi

Yet another Punjabi indie favorite of our generations, the Hindi version from Baaghi 2 is just a sad and a rather insipid version of the original fiery number. Even Disha Patani and Tiger Shroff’s moves and chemistry could not save this sinking ship of a song.

Aashiq Banaya Apne

No matter how much we troll Himesh Reshammiya now, back in 2005 when Aashiq Banaya Apne came out, none of us were immune to the charm of the song. Words fall short to condemn what Hate Story 4 and Urvashi Rautela did to this number.

Naam Hai Mera Mera

Yet another Himesh Reshammiya number to be murdered by Hate Story 4, we never thought that we will so bad for our Himes Bhai and his nostrils. Whatever the compositions were, they were a part of our nostalgia and Urvashi Rautela ruining it is not our idea of a fun song recreation.

Gazab Ka Hai Din

No no no no no…certain things are classic for a reason and classics are not be tampered with for a reason. Dil Junglee recreating Gazab Hai Din is one grudge that we are going to hold against the makers and Tapsee Pannu and Saqib Salim forever.
