Tanhaji’s Shankara Re Shankara Song: Swag, Pride And All Is Fine But It Is Ajay Devgn’s Dance Steps That Not Letting Us Watch It With A Straight Face

The new song from Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji, Shankara Re Shankara is here and it sure has an impact. The song has been composed and sung by Mehul Vyas and lyrics have been penned down by Anil Verma.

The song is probably taking place at the fort of Kondhana where Tanhaji’s troops have entered in the disguise of performers and entertainers to dance for the Rajput chief Uday Bhan played by Saif Ali Khan. It has the grandeur of the sets and the swelling music that is somewhat reminding us of the setting and feel of Malhari from Bajirao Mastani.

However, let us come to the most remarkable part of the song that is the choreography. From Ajay Devgn’s first film itself, it was clear that the talented actor is not the most prolific dancer, however, he always had the swag to compensate for his lack of tinkle toes. In Singham, choreographer Ganesh Acharya gave him the iconic air-grabbing hook step, something that Acharya has not only recycled here but also taken it a notch further.

If you thought that you have seen every imaginable body part being used in dancing, behold the ‘want-to-pull-my-tonsils-out’ and ‘chalo-maang-meri-bharo’ step or his paying homage to the 'zubaan kesari' campaign. It does not, however, stop there and Ajay Devgn is sometimes making ‘chand’ with his hands on the side of his forehead and sometimes striking seriously weird poses as Saif looks on at the spectacle from his throne with a lascivious smile on his face. Yep! Go Figure!

Directed by Om Raut, Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero is all set to hit the theatres on 10^th January and will tell the story of Subedaar Tanhaji Malusare whose troops fought with Uday Bhan to gain control of the fort of Kondhana.
