The First Motion Picture Of Shakuntala Devi Is Out And Vidya Balan Promises To Make Maths Fun With It

The first motion picture of Vidya Balan starrer Shakuntala Devi biopic is here and let’s just say it is making some tall claims. For everyone out there whose childhood was marred by the monster named maths, this motion poster introduces Shakuntala Devi also known as the Human-Computer as the lady who made Mathematics fun.

For the uninitiated, Shakuntala Devi is an Indian genius who was famous worldwide and could perform most complicated mathematical calculations mentally, that too faster than a computer. What is even more surprising is that she did all of these without ever receiving a formal education. Her extraordinary skills not only earned her worldwide fame but also the tag of a Guinness World Record Holder.

The film, based on the life of this miracle of a woman is being directed by Anu Menon and will release sometime in summers 2020. Apart from Vidya Balan playing the titular character, Sanya Malhotra will also be a part of the film and will play the role of Shakuntala Devi’s daughter. The first look of the film had already created a stir due to Vidya Balan’s amazing resemblance to the deceased math genius.
