Dream Girl 'Ek Mulaqat' Song : Ayushmann Khurrana And Nushrat Bharucha’s New Song Sounds Like Mere Rashke Qamar And Bulleya Had A Baby

After Radhe Radhe and Dhagala Lagli Kala and Dil Ka Telephone, the next song from Dream Girl is here. Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha, the song is the first love ballad of the album. Composed by Meet Bros and sung by Altamash Faridi, Meet Bros and Palak Munchal the song is that typical romantic number where the girl and boy meet and go on a date where they roam around the city.

From the tune of the song to the chemistry between Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha, here is what we thought about the song. Directed Raaj Shaandilya, the quirky comedy is going to hit the screen on September 13^th.

Very ‘Inspired’

Now that every other song in Bollywood is a remake, it is a source of great relief when original compositions are made for films. Technically, Ek Mulaqat is an original composition but ‘inspirations’ behind the composition seems a little too obvious. The song sound almost exactly like Mere Rashkw Qamar from Baadshaho with a little bit of Bulleya from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil thrown into the mix.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Nushrat Bharucha’s Chemistry

Ayushmann Khurrana is clearly the blue-eyed boy of Hindi cinema right now and the trailer is enough proof that he is again going bring something totally awesome with Dream Girl. Nushrat Bharucha, on the other hand, is also enjoying her time in the limelight after the super success of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and has been signing some very interesting projects right now. However, together they do not have the best chemistry and that is evident in this love song where their chemistry should have been the USP. Even though we cannot put a finger on it, there is something definitely off with the two of them together.

Insipid Lyrics

The lyrics of the song has been penned down by Shabbir Ahmed and it is nothing groundbreaking. To be completely honest the lyrics are totally insipid and been-there-done-that. Anyway, the music is not the most original and the lyrics also do not show much imagination or poetry which kind of ensures that the song is hardly going to have a recall value or some sort of connect.

Small Town Connect

The film is set in the small town of Mathura and the song tries to give a feel of the city that, though not very authentically, is somewhat communicated. But, what really does not fit into the background is Nushrat Bharucha with her gorgeous outfit, perfect makeup, and the blow-dried hair. She looks a little too polish to be authentic. Ayushmann on the other hand, as usual, is doing a phenomenal job at blending into the surroundings and looking like the perfect small-town dude with his bright and somewhat ill-fitted denims.
