Was Imran Khan's Failing Career As An Actor They Reason For His Split With Wife Avantika Malik?

After eight years of marriage the news of Imran Khan and Avantika Malik’s separation came as quite a shock. The couple has been living separately for some time now and all kinds of rumors have been doing the rounds about what went wrong between them. Now according to the latest reports Imran’s failed acting career and the resulting frustration caused a major drift between him and Avantika.

Imran who was last seen in Katti Batti opposite Kangana Ranaut in 2015 which failed to drive any numbers at the box office and reportedly offers stopped coming his way. Imran’s attempt at direction also didn’t excite the masses and he apparently got irritated of sitting at home. According to source close to the couple quoted by Pinkvilla, “It's been four years that the actor is at home, doing absolutely nothing. He wanted to turn a director but that also has not taken shape the way he envisioned. He just did a small short with Dharma 2.0 and that's it.”

The source further claimed that when their savings started to dry up, Imran became really jittery and him and Avantika fought a lot before she eventually had to ask her side of the family to help in financial matters. “They tried various ways to reconcile but to no avail. Both Imran and Avantika were fuming and they decided to take some time off their marriage and she moved out with the kid,” the source added.

Both Avantika and Imran have maintained silence on the matter while Avantika’s mother had maintained that they are trying to work things out in a previous interview.
