Revealed: Here's The Original Story Of Sidharth Malhotra & Sonakshi Sinha's Ittefaq
Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha are coming together in Dharma’s upcoming movie Ittefaq which is the remake of Yash Chopra’s directorial Ittefaq from 1969.
The film also stars Akshaye Khanna. Here’s the story of the old movie for you to know what’s being served on your platter with a remake.
In the original movie, Rajesh Khanna was a painter who gets into a tiff with his wife and she tears away his painting. He threatens to kill her and leaves the house, only to return and find the dead body of her wife. His wife’s sister who lives with them blames Rajesh for the murder and he gets arrested.
One day he flees from the prison and ends up in a house where he begs the owner of the house (who is a woman) to give him shelter to hide from the police. He then finds a dead body which is that woman’s husband. Police comes to arrest him and somehow at the end they get to know that it wasn’t Rajesh, but the woman who murdered her own husband. At the end he also gets to know that his wife was murdered by her own sister who was wrongly blaming him for the murder.
Now going by the first look posters, we don’t know if Sonakshi will be playing Sidharth’s wife or the woman who murders her husband. Sidharth of course is innocent and we’d love to see how convincingly he will portray this character that will be constantly under scrutiny and has so many layers to his personality.
The film is coproduced by Karan Johar, Gauri Khan and B R Studios. The music is composed by Amaal Malik and it is directed by Abhay Chopra.
