The common factor between the two films separated by exactly 10 years? John Abraham. An actor, who has been around since 2003 (when Jism hit the screens) and is one of the few stars who is not just relevant but only soaring with every passing year, John has seen quite some transition during last decade and a half. Now that he would be seen in Nikkhil Advani directed Batla House, one is waiting to see him move on to 'level next' when it comes to not just picking a tough role but also showing his evolution as an actor.

Not that he didn't have a good share of successes between the time he did Jism and New York. Films as distinct as Dhoom (action), Garam Masala (comedy), Kabul Express (drama), Dostana (bromance) were some of the good successes that John Abraham delivered, hence accumulating a good fan base for himself across age groups and type.

However, it was after New York that industry acknowledged the kind of talent that he came with, and the period of transition began for the actor. Be it his no-nonsense action avtar in Force & Force 2, Race 2 and Shootout at Wadala or comedies like Housefull 2, Welcome Back and Desi Boyz, John Abraham upped the ante when it came to featuring in bigger and better film.

The films that established him well as an actor who could well up with sensitive portrayals though were Madras Cafe and Parmanu: The Story of Pokharan. Both were patriotic films at heart and with a thriller-drama appeal to them, they also gave John Abraham good enough platform to excel. There was this nationalistic flavor that these films came with audiences too accepted them both with glee. Later when Satyameva Jayate arrived with a bang and turned out to be John Abraham's biggest opener ever by a distance, it was time to pop the champagne.

No wonder, John Abraham is riding high today on back to back success of these films and is gearing up for the Thursday release of Batla House. The Independence Day release has the actor play a tough cop who has his own story to tell about what really happened during the infamous encounter of Batla House that made headlines back in 2008. Incidentally, the real life encounter had taken place at the time when John Abraham was shooting for New York and hence it was destined that one decade down the line, he would be bringing it all on screen.

Over the years, John Abraham has done exceedingly well to establish his credentials as one of the top saleable star actors around. If the buzz so far is any indication, he is indeed going to strike big when the film releases all over on 15th August.
