    On this day, in the year 2004, ‘Hum Tum’ was released. The quirky movie was directed by Kunal Kohli which featured, Rani Mukherji Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Isha Koppikar, Rishi Kapoor, Jimmy Shergill in pivotal characters. Abhishek Bachchan had a special appearance.

    This movie completed 16 years and as we look back, this movie gave a lot to us! The modern, passive thinking on gender, beautiful songs that are still so fresh in our memory, Rani Mukherjee’s bob cut look and Saif Ali’s handsome, innocent face, Rishi Kapoor singing his own melodies! So much so, that we might have watched this movie at least 5-10 times. Also, ‘Hum Tum’ bagged Saif Ali Khan his first National Award for the best actor in his entire career.

    Today, on this special occasion, Rani Mukherji got nostalgic and shared some insights about shooting with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor, who had an untimely demise last month. She also opened about the whole experience of this movie.

    She told IANS, “ Hum Tum will always be memorable for me because it was the film that Chintu uncle was part of, and I fondly remember our shoot in Amsterdam. Recently, when I met him before his untimely demise, we were chatting about the Hum Tum shoot and we were recalling the days of how much fun we had during the Amsterdam schedule.”

    She further remembered Rishi Kapoor and said, “I remember very clearly that, for Chintu uncle, it was one of the first films in which he had started playing key character roles. He took a leap of faith and he agreed to play Saif''s dad because till then he was always the leading star. Somehow he did this and he was just brilliant as usual and made our film truly special!” the actress has been quoted as saying by IANS.
