REVEALED: The Details Of Akshay Kumar's 2.0 Character And It's Not A Negative Role!

From the first time we saw Akshay Kumar in his crow-like appearance to the latest poster, in which the Bollywood star looks beastly, we had assumed that he plays the antagonist in the film. Now, buzz is that the film might not have Akshay as a villain but a character with grey shades. This reminds us, of course, of Dr Jekyll and his alter-ego Hyde. In this Rajinikanth -starrer, Akshay Kumar plays the role of Dr Richard. He apparently starts off as a man who fights for the right causes, according to a report in Deccan Chronicle.

A source was quoted as saying, “Akshay is not a villain in 2.0. The costume and prosthetics suggest he plays a ferocious character. And he does! But Akshay’s Dr Richard is fighting for the right causes. He struggles against forces that have plundered and devastated the earth.”

Now, there are guesses that the film might be about genetics research gone wrong coupled with robotics research. We see Chitti, Dr Vaseegaran’s (Rajinikanth) creation play a pivotal role, and we also saw the negative version of Chitti in the 3D featurette video that was released by the makers. Does this mean that the main villain is again none other than Chitti programmed wrong?

Akshay Kumar’s look had gone viral after it was released by the makers. This and the success of the audio launch has left makers busy as they promote the film.

Recently though, speculations are rife that the film might not release on January 25 as expected. Especially after Akshay Kumar announced the release of Padman on January 26, there is talk in the industry that the film might be postponed again.

The film directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions will also star Amy Jackson as a humanoid.
